Even if we go 5-5 in that stretch instead of 10-0 we are currently selecting 6th in the draft this year. People want to add and make a playoff run but in all honesty that 10 game winning streak was the difference of being mediocre and average. - Pegullaville

14 of your 25 wins have been by a single goal.
9 have been in OT or the shootout, which is basically a coin flip.
That 10 game win streak was a smoke screen - BINGO!
13 of your losses have been by one goal, also.
Just saying. |

We have one of the worst, if not the worst record over the past 26 games. I hope those life boats are stocked with life jackets. But hey, maybe we should package 5 assets to acquire a player in the short term that still doesn’t get us to the playoffs or potentially does only so we can lose in 5 games to the lightning or Isles/Caps. Then we’d sit here 3 years from now wondering why we are an average team still with a below average prospect pool |

Captains post game interview featured a dynamic change last night.
Instead of “that’s a good team over there” he went with “lots of good players over there.”
And he gave the unforgivable “we have to be better, *myself included*.”
Mope - Der Kaiser
Is he losing his love of the game? He better find it, because it’s his team now and he is responsible to turning this mess around. Unless he’s in on the tank and wants to see the team get as good of a draft pick as possible. |

And you have 9 losses by 3 or more goals. It's almost like a young team relying amd a wildly inconsistent goal scorer playing the hottest hockey of his life is... wildly inconsisteny. |

No, no, no. We rely on Eichel. Skinner does a great job of finishing however. Skinner is a heck of a goal scorer but doesn’t impact the game nearly as much as Eichel does night in and night out. |

Goals all count the same no matter who is scoring.
Point is Jeff has 7 in his last 17 games now, and the Sabres are 5-11-1 in that time.
He's still getting it done at a high rate, but it's not enough to mask the other issues anymore. |

This team has some very good players and some of the kids are good building blocks for the future. Rochester is having a good year. This team also has trash on it and lots still needs to be done.
The achilles heel? Coaching. If there is one move Botts has to seriously consider when the season is over to fire Phil. Housley should have fired both Hajt and Payne after last season's debacle and he didn't. Bring us Quenneville. 1 for January on the PP? Good job Payne you bum. |

Bring in Quenneville. Shake things up. Call ups. Waive guys. Has to do something. - Irish 14
He's Darcy Regier part deux.
He likes to sit on his hands, fart on them and sniff them afterwards.
He's a coward just like Regier.
For GM's, we just keep hiring winner after winner.

Yes they do. But Skinner is on pace for 50 playing with Eichel when really he’s 25-30 goal guy (which there is absolutely nothing wrong with either). Eichel is our Mackinnon. Skinner/Reinhart could be the Landeskog on the line. I’d love to see what Eichel could do if we got him another player to play on his line that can drive a teams offense at an elite rate on their own like a Rantenen could. |

Yes, there's plenty of goal scoring issues on this team, but my God, Hutton sucks. Can't depend on him making a key save at all. Just play Ullmark from here on out if you want any chance of winning games. |

Scott Arniel. Power Play = fixed.
Maybe, just maybe he needs another kick at the can. |

Last time I checked Eichel is signed for 7 more years. Skinner is a good player, elite finisher. Without Eichel he’s just a guy that was traded for Poo and mid round picks. - Pegullaville

as long as botts has the scrubs with the big club, and not giving these kids a realistic shot I am convinced botts is fine tanking

Allegedly both he and Eichel are capable of controlling a game and singlehandedly winning games? Ain't really seen it.... Scoring points yes.... Controlling games? Hardly.... Bigger problem is coaching, defense and goaltending..... This team is a frigging mess... - rapperray
Thank your GM for his cowardly lion routine.
And then, then we have the scarecrow behind the bench.
Lots of players on this roster playing dual roles as tin man and Dorothy.
Pegula, the Wizard well, we all know about the wizard behind the curtain.
While toto, Murray continues to urinate on everyone's leg.
And I agree with RapperRay.
Eichel and Dahlin are both overhyped on this board.
Playing good once every 5-10 games does NOT make you a superstar.
I called out Murray and was right.
And the natives here finally had to eat crow and realize that I was 100% right.
GMJB needs to stop sitting on his hands and get into the game.
He's already allowed yet another season to seep into the non playoff sewer.
The end of December is when moves were needed to be made.
Not now when every other GM knows that you're desperate.
Modern day GM's are too predictable. |
