Hitch deserves these losses by his deployment of his 3-on-3 lines. Pa-(frank)ing-thetic. Zero accountability; zero sense. |

Why would you go with Russell...
Go with Nurse and Larsson as your defenders for your two units. |

Well on the bright side, he won’t be behind the bench next season. |

There is plenty I don’t get....why Puju on the 4th line when he could slot in with Nuge and Khaira....why Lucic with McDavid?....I’m asking too many whys

I’m just connecting dots....while hitch wasn’t a boy on the bus he is an Edmonton guy....using this logic it makes sense...not as a GM but an advisor or something

Must be. We are clearly not capable of understanding his level of genius.

Lucic with McDavid hasn't stopped him from scoring so I'm not too cheesed about that (yet), but I agree on Puljujarvi. Not that he's earned all that much but if they're insistent on keeping him in the NHL, at least play him with some skill. Staple Khaira and Puljujarvi to Nuge and run that line till the end of the season. Build some chemistry, goddammit.
Once the deadline passes, I'd give Benson and Marody chances in the top-6 to close out the season.
Benson- McDavid- Rattie
MoJo- Draisaitl- Marody
Khaira- Nuge- Puljujarvi
Lucic- Brodziak- Chiasson
Kassian and Rieder out; MoJo, Benson and Marody in
Klefbom- Larsson
Nurse- Russell
Gravel- Benning
Manning
Petrovic out (likely for a 5th or something)
Ideally you could add a top-6 option less liable to injury, but beggars like us can't be choosers |

I wouldn't be so sure. "Oilers culture" tends to favour old school thinking. |

Adding in a top 6 option prior to the deadline would be a nice boost for us, but hey, we're probably gonna get another bottom pairing defender. |

The problem is Hitchlellan never gives a line enough time to build anything because he will just take his blender and mix it all up....I am in favour of calling some of the kids up once the TDL passes....let’s see if we can get a jump start on next season and see if these kids are ready or if they will need more time....I’m hoping Gravel gets to stick around but I get this negative feeling that Hitch will play Manning over him and I hope I’m wrong because I feel like Benning can contribute on a 3rd pairing role but it wouldn’t shock me if he was traded at the TDL

Aye, maybe there is something in the water.
But for crying out loud, give Larsson some offensive time and see what he does with it. He cashed in a goal last game. He has been making more offensive plays (getting more involved offensively) this season and it would be nice to see him get rewarded for it.
Playing Nurse 25+ minutes a game is eventually gonna take a toll on him (29 minutes last game!). |
