I ended up getting a free ticket to Zach Bogosian's Casino for a Cause event last night. It was a lot of fun. Played at a blackjack table with McCabe and Beaulieu as dealers. They were an entertaining pair. |

Zach seems like a really good guy with all he does off the rink. |

I agree, but you also make a great point, which is the price for each player going forward and how much they gave up for Skinner compared to how much they'd have to give up for Laine. - kingcong39
Skinner had a NTC and had Carolina’s hands tied but I do understand your point. I’m a big believer in buy low and sell high. If you were to buy call options in apple stock last week before its earnings report you would have been made a ton of $$$ even after the company has been slumping for over a month. The price on Laine is high no doubt but a time to ever acquire a player like that would be right now. |

Yeah, he definitely is. The event raised a lot of money. A golden retriever puppy was won at an auction for $6,000.
Funny thing is, it's no secret among my friends that I am not a Zach Bogosian fan, and never was. They got quite a chuckle about how ended up going to his event for free and I won an autographed puck from him.
In all seriousness, to put together an event like that says a lot about his character. |

I like what Bogo brings to the team. Just wish it was for $2M cheaper and he was on the third pair. But to win in the playoffs I think we need a guy like that no doubt. |

Ok, will do.
Sprong finally getting a chance w a team. 9 goals in 23 games. - Powerslave
You have to think jbotts sniffed around the asking price on sprong?
Difficult division trade maybe?

They did get Pettersson back in the deal so Rutherford was looking for a young player in return. Perhaps Botts didn’t want to move Guhle for Sprong ? Maybe that wasn’t even an option and Rutherford wanted to move him out west just in case he turned out to be quite the player ? We’ll never know. |

I would hope so.
It looks like Pettersson is playing well, too, based on basic stats. |

I think something big is about to happen.
I know big trades happen mostly in the offseason and jbotts is a patient guy, but I think ownership is growing impatient.

I believe he does multiple things like that in the community.
I'm a fan of what he does off the ice. |

Like I said a Twitter source mentioned Duchene twice in the last month. Incarcerated Bob mentioned us and Montreal were interested in a “Big name forward” a month ago. The Blues Senior advisor was scouting us last week and 89 has mentioned Schenn.
I would keep the 1sts imo but if Nylander, Guhle, a roster player and a 2nd rounder gets a deal done that helps the team I’m perfectly fine with it. If it takes the SJS first it better be Duchene along with an extension. I don’t like Schenn tbh with you. Maybe Botts and the FO likes Schenn enough. |

Duchene is a really good player, but he’s 28. I don’t think trading a ton of assets + extending him is a bright idea at all.
If they sign him in FA I can live with it |

Duchene is not a guy I would target
Maybe with a sign and trade
Shenn would be interesting.
The amerks are winning, watch jbotts add some veteran ahl guys so they can make a run. |

That’s the best case scenario but it seems this fan base is becoming increasingly impatient. |

I’ll call and raise you a Skinner trade at the deadline. If he really wants to be here we’ll see you on July 1st. |

If Florida wins their game in hand they are four back. Philly has won 7 straight, Oilers, Canucks, Avs, Blues are all battling for a spot. We could be picking top 10 before you know it with another first rounder to boot from whoever acquires Skinner. Trade Beaulieu, Scandella, Sobotka, Pommer for for anything at this point.
Go into free agency with the most cap space in the league sans the bankrupt franchises and 4 picks in the first round and make a freaking statement |

Starting to get a little worried about Skinner, as the end of the season draws near. Shouldn't he be signed by now ? Trade him at the deadline if he's not signed by then. If we lose him for nothing ? I'm done. |

Just did some back-reading. Jeez, is there an angrier HB comments section than ours ? I don't think so. I'd say it's 20 % angry about the team, and 80% angry with each other.
Sad to say, but I think we need Gerbe back here. He was the one focal point we could all find focus our angst towards. - kritter65
I'm not angry with anyone.
Every individual here has a right to their opinion and to have it respected no matter how much you may disagree with it.
Some here just need to fine tune their maturity level is all.
They'll get there.
Maybe?
