Reinhart was worse than Casey and Tage actually, but Reinhart remained on PP1 |

He had a 4 game pointless streak this year and last year.
He had a 5 and 7 game pointless streak his rookie year. - kingcong39
The longest Eichel has ever gone without a point is 5 games. |

I can't do the stats stuff it bores the hell out of me and I just like watching the games.
But here's what I see.
Tage Thompson is too talented to play in the AHL. His skill set already is above the AHL level of play, it just isn't fast enough for the NHL level of play. So to develop meaningfully, he has to gain more NHL experience. Also, his shot is like a chimp with a handgun: very very dangerous, but totally unreliable. That's why he can have 13 shot opportunities in a game and still go scoreless.
Reading too many posts on the subject for too many years leads me to believe that people's take on Sam Reinhart is entirely dependent on whether the poster presumes that he was supposed to be a good hockey player drafted in a bad year, or a franchise defining player. Everybody seems to agree he is a good hockey player. Some people don't think that's enough. The item I will note is that on the top line, Sam produces pretty impressive points. Whether you think that is enough or not, it's true. When Tage was on the top line, he did NOT produce.
I'm totally unclear why Casey Mittlestat hasn't done more on the score sheet. He makes good plays regularly. But he hasn't cashed yet. And I don't see the same kind of set up passes from him that I see from Sam, so I'm less likely to blame Casey's linemates. I think Pachla is right and he is still learning that things he could do at Minnesota and in high school aren't going to work in this league. For me, Casey could use some time in the AHL.

Lighten up a bit. His numbers last year in a similar spot in the lineup as Casey’s this year are very similar. It was also sams 3rd year in the league. I think it’s a very fair comparison. I didn’t even take a side here. I’m not one to argue against facts. |

That is a fantastic example of moving the goal posts on a Super Bowl Sunday. Well done. |

Nah, he made a very good comparison to how Reinhart couldn’t produce points on a third line with no help, but you have no good retort so you’re just going to ignore it - sbroads24
I thought wisdom comes with age ? I guess not. Next time I pick a different player to compare. Maybe Max Domi. The scrub who could only score 5 goals last year with only 4 of them being on a goalie. Can you believe the Habs traded for that scrub ? |

If you wanted Mitts to succeed as a 2C this year, he needed either Sam or Skinner with him. Expecting him to carry Sheary and Okposo was never fair. - Lunaion

it's impossible to have a conversation with you
reinhart has never performed as pathetic as these 2
this conversation has nothing to do with sam reinhart
it's all about the failure of casey and tag, which adds up to 1/3 of our middle 6, and our lack of secondary scoring
when you want to talk about this topic, tage and casey
chime in - homiedclown
Whether I compare Thompson and Mitts with Reinahrts first 40 games last year or Max Domi’s 82 what difference does it make. Put a player in a position to succeed and they produce.

tage has 11 points in 44 games
casey has 16 points in 51 games
what full season did reinhart have less then 30 points?
these 2 combined might hit 35 this season |

What legitimate top 6 player have either of them played with?
How much PP time with Jack, Skinner, Risto, Dahlin have 72 or 37 got?
37 had some to begin the year and that’s how he got on the scoresheet at all because his 5 on5 play was non-existent |

but they are 2 of our middle 6
playing with erod who has above average production for the last 2 seasons of any 3rd liner
sheary, who did have 41 goals in the last 2 seasons
maybe it is all coaching
I think it's somewhere in the middle |

with young players, it's nice to see growth and development during the course of a season
hope for next year
I don't see it
again maybe it's coaching
they had to great vet berglund to help them out, didn't work
e-rod, nope
sheary, nope
okposo, nope
it's very frustrating
maybe phil needs to go
but what if the same happens next season? |
