A deal for Toffoli would be nice. And agree Beaulieau should probably be dealt before the TD. |

I don't need to see that on the bench. And Q is clearly yelling at the officials. You don't gain an official's respect by acting like a lunatic/idiot.
Per Hamilton and Harrington, Phil does get pretty intense at practice and behind closed doors. It's a choice by him to not act like that in public.

You don't get their respect by calmly chomping gum when they let 2 obviously penalties slide in OT either.
The team, the fans and the organization should feel like Phil has their back, in public and in private, when calls like that are missed. I wouldn't have been mad if Phil got himself tossed in that case. |

Sobotka on in OT ..............
He should be put on waivers, and he's on the ice in OT! Someone needs to answer these questions:
1) Ullmark not playing after a strong game vs. Dallas
2) Pilot sitting
3) Not benching vet's (Okposo/Sobotka - Pominville sat, others need to as well)

You're right about the idea of "having the back." There's different ways to do it.
I think it takes more than chomping gum. It doesn't take grabbing your balls and getting tossed. |

True But I would have preferred him getting tossed in that case than simply chomping gum. It was time to channel a little bit of Lindy in that case. Ball grabbing is over the line. |

So you think he'll be back for the 19/20 season? I think he'll finish this season out but Botts has to consider coaching changes this summer. |

I think he may be gone next year if things don't change, can't see him firing him this year as of now. |

I guess Botts will see progress this year so he'll want Phail back. At the very least, he needs to fire Payne and Hajt. |

If the players don't know by now whether Phil has their back or not then, then there are deeper issues.
And, honestly, (frank) the fans.
Should Botts tell us exactly what he's planning to do at the deadline? That's "having our backs", isn't it?
Lindy and Q were pretty intense players. Phil was not. His bench demeanor reflects that, but like I said, per the reports, he's pretty intense behind "closed doors". |
