Sobotka on in OT ..............
He should be put on waivers, and he's on the ice in OT! Someone needs to answer these questions:
1) Ullmark not playing after a strong game vs. Dallas
2) Pilot sitting
3) Not benching vet's (Okposo/Sobotka - Pominville sat, others need to as well)
Send a message! - Irish 14

The Okposo experiment did not last the entire game, as expected.
I would try:
Skinner-Eichel-Pominville
Sheary-Mitts-Reinhart
Smith-Erod-Thompson

Stinklander, Sobotka and sharks 1st for Getzlaf

I wouldn't hate it - homiedclown
No thanks
He’s old & declining
(and overrated imo)
If we were contending for the Cup,
then maybe
But he doesn’t fit our timeline
*idk if he’d waive to come here anyways? |

I don't need to see that on the bench. And Q is clearly yelling at the officials. You don't gain an official's respect by acting like a lunatic/idiot.
Per Hamilton and Harrington, Phil does get pretty intense at practice and behind closed doors. It's a choice by him to not act like that in public. - Powerslave
It supposedly somehow helps you win though
Or so I’ve been told |

Friedman's thoughts on Buffalo are strange. He says they aren't interested in rentals but then mentions Hagelin. A little contradictory, eh Elliotte? |

Right? If by "good fit", he meant third liner who can't score, then Friedman is right on. |

I expect any moves made by Botts are low cost depth players such as Hagelin.
3rd rd + picks in play along with lower level prospects. |

Imo, if they miss the playoffs by a few points (and I'm by no means endorsing this), I think Phyllis gets another year
That is, unless "they" (management) sees something they really don't like (poor development, teaching skills, whatever). - Powerslave
I think ownership is already "looking" around for phil's replacement. I would be.
If the right coach is available, phil is gone.
May stay if there isnt an upgrade.

Exactly
Hagelin is a “fit” as a speedy 4th liner (not even 3rd anymore) who can help a team’s PK
If we can move Sobotka...
Then fine,
as long as he’s played with Girgs & Larsson
He has no place in our top9 imo
*and he’d have to be VERY cheap to acquire |

You don't get their respect by calmly chomping gum when they let 2 obviously penalties slide in OT either.
The team, the fans and the organization should feel like Phil has their back, in public and in private, when calls like that are missed. I wouldn't have been mad if Phil got himself tossed in that case. - Pope of Pucks
Good post.
Lsst night 16,000 plus are screaming at the ref. Phil just took it in stride.
There is a strong fan base showing emotion. Last night was incredibly loud. Good to see. |

I remember 89 &/or Homie in the past saying that teams were interested
I’d imagine he’d need to be part of a package at this point to get a good return though |

Refs most often put their whistles away late in the 3rd & OT
Should they?
Probably not, but that’s how it is
Does a coach yelling at them change anything?

I give phil credit. Okposo was terrible on the 1st line.
He didnt stick with it for mulitple games.
He yanked okposo and replaced him with a legend.

Part of the game is the entertainment factor.
Watching the boss just take poop all night, with ZERO response is terrible. We're a passionate fan base led by a wimpy gun chewer.
The referees have been particularly bad at home this season. This home town gets - a disadvantage |

I don't see Housley being fired. This is the Sabres best season in how many years?
Plus it looks really bad, and they are going to start getting a reputation if he is canned
So far Sabres hires since they took over.
Lafontaine (~ 2 years)
Nolan (~ 2 years)
Murray ( ~ 2 years)
Bylsma (~ 2 years)
The Bills are the same way
Marrone
Ryan
Whaley
People are going to start to take notice.

Fair enough,
I haven't been to taco bell in 20+ years.
I remember a co worker telling me "every day I swear I won't go back" ( taco bell).
It was gross back then.
Especially with mighty and ziggy's available |

On Friday against Chicago was my breaking point with him. All game chewing his gum, holding his knee. The norm.
Then the 2nd period ended... Players and Staff make their way into the locker room. There is Phail on the bench holding the tablet for 5+ minutes after all the players are in the room..... they came out firing in the 3rd.. so SOMEONE got them fired up while Phail was still on the bench by himself doing what he does best... chewing gum and looking lost. |
