I brought up this same point a few weeks ago and some dildo on here came back with “Why would the Berglund situation look bad on the organization?”. - Pairo11
I heard this a few weeks ago.
Makes sense. Too many dildo's around here sometimes. |

Are you kidding me ... I wouldn't pay him over 7.5 mil a year...As someone always says on this BLOG, Sabres fans over estimate a players worth. He'll be 30 in 3 years and he still needs to learn to defend - pwasil7
I was thinking 8 x 8? Some have said 8.5 x 8
So a couple years less, couple more million?
Prime years wrapped up |

I would have thought it would be more. But that logic, maybe Okposo and a 1st for a terrible prospect and a 2nd/3rd would be equivalent? - jcragcrumple
datsyuk only had one year left on his deal...granted it was a $7.5m cap-hit but it was still only one year...
sabres are going to need to ride this one out for the rest of this season, and i'm planning on it being at least another year before they can get out from under it |

That's the way I see it. Expansion seems like a way out.
If okposo could just score 15/25 ,for 40 points.
That's what a 3- 3.5 million guy gets |

he has nine goals and 20 points after a horrendous start and is on pace for 14 goals/34 points...
sux bigtime, I know, but it is what it is--bottom-six numbers for top-six salary |

He's not moulson incompetent.
40 points next year might be a pipe dream, but I'm not giving away a first and probably eating salary too.
I'm sure he's helping the young guys in other ways .

Maybe he'll give Skinner $2m a year to do his laundry, so then we only have to pay Skinner $6m per. That would be real leadership |

34 total points or assists. Points I’m thinking.
Edit: amazing but he’s actually on pace for 14/32. 46 points. I wouldn’t have thought that would be close. |

although i'll probably be labeled an Okposo apologist, he's actually been playing quite well the past dozen games or so...since the Christmas break (14 games) he has four goals which ties him with e-rod and skunk, just one behind skinner...and he's done it averaging the least amount of ice-time (13:32) amongst that group

I'm no apologist either, but the sunavagun plays hard and takes up a lot of space.

My problem with his game is that he tries to do too much. He works the cycle but gets the puck and loses it.
Get the damn thing back to the point and then go to the net !! |

Okposo seems like a real likeable teammate. That scores a few points for me.
I wouldnt be surprised to see him click with eichel tonight.
Crazy, but I bet he has a multipoint game tonight.
I think okposo is dealing with bad coaching.
Bad pp coaching.
These guys cant be this bad. Okposo included.
Have you heard anything about the players/coaches not being thrilled with how berglund was handled?
Odd that the Sabres look completely different since then divorced from berglund. In a bad way.
I know everyone felt like the players would be mad at berglund. But: him having some emotional/dependant problems , I think the players probably feel for him and his family. That's a lot of $ being yanked away
Especially someone like sobotka, that has known him for years. |

Bergy quit on the team for whatever reason, and to the best of my knowledge HE agreed to terminate the remainder of his contract, meaning the decision was mutual, why would the Sabres look bad??
I am just having a hard time understanding why any player in the league would be pissed off at the Sabres..... |
