This was all that we expected after last season. it's moving along .

I can say with confidence that he is finally our 2nd best forward. If he and Mitts can keep this up, and the Mittelstadt we've seen the last 7 games is the new norm, we are a playoff lock next year.

He really was great tonight - so many excellent plays. After that goal off the McCabe apple, it looked like that line was out for blood on the ensuing faceoff.

Here's hoping he goes on a tear like the 2nd half of last year.

I mean instant gratification is an innate human craving. I love watching this team win and making the playoffs would be great for the city and its fans. My brain though says, like I've been saying here for a while, tank on and possibly get the final piece of the puzzle for when we are actually cup contenders. The Sabres are in such a weird positon right now. We are one point out of a playoff spot but we are both 5 points out of 3rd in the Atlantic and 5 points out of being a top 10 pick lol. I cheer when we win and cheer when we lose. This season is a win-win for me no matter the outcome.

Skinner has 3 points in his last 10 games. Reinhart had a genuine impact on the game tonight. They are both great players but over the past 15 games its safe to say that Reinhart has surpassed Skinner slightly in my eyes at least.

Ullmark needs to be getting the majority of the starts down the stretch. He is the better goaltender. Kid is a rock mentally.

Skinner is an elite goal scorer but Reinahrt is a more rounded player. Skinner has average at best playmaking skills. Reinhart will score more goals then Skinner will set up someone else to score. It’s not like Reinhart blows him out of the water by any means. They are both great players. I still think if we are a cup contender though they both have to be our 3rd and 4th best forwards respectively. Whether or not that’s Casey developing into a star or us acquiring one/signing in free agency or via the draft. If Reinahrt brings the effort he brought tonight though 50 games a year then we are in really good shape when Dahlin, Mitts, and Thompson peak.

He may also still finish 3rd on the team in points. Reinhart and Skinner are both great players. If Reinhart can string 5-10 games here with Mittelstadt and play like he did tonight he’s more imperative to total team success though.

Laine is also an elite goal scorer but to me Scheif and Wheeler stir the drink still in Winnipeg. The Sabres need to find their Kyle Connor though.

I think people say play making when they really mean passing. Sam's a gifted passer. When a pass isn't there, Sam's not a guy who creates much on his own. Skinner is.

When Sam works hard and gets to dirty areas, I like him a lot. Passive Sam can be a real dud some nights.
