bs marky never steals us a game

I strongly disagree, Markstrom has been pretty bloody amazing, the team in front of him never steals a game. If not for Markstrom games would be 7-2, 9-2.

if he would get a shutout we would win some games 2-0 , 1-0 , so it's a wash, and if we did't have to always come from behind it would decrease the pressure on the forwards

Someone was sharing a bit of the private stat tracking on Twitter the other day. Had Markstrom around 12/13th in the league.

I think a lot of the same stuff had him 14/15th last season

Canucks should have won, Holtby was unreal. 2 hot goalies in a row means 2 unfortunate losses
- NorthNuck

We are a few players away from closing championship teams like the Caps out. As well as we played in the 2-3 periods it was men vs boys in the first even Beagle said they looked like crap in the first.

But how about that tribute to Beagle...fantastic.

Think we'll ever see that for Gaunce??

The difference between a true #1 and a goalie like Marky who is trying to become one.

Agree Marky has played better and 'close to being a starter'...but he's just not there.

I have no idea what you could possibly do to fix edmonton

When McDavid's line with Draisaitl isn't on the ice they get absolutely destroyed possession wise.

Draft well and develop. Key to success for every team.

Looking at the top goaltenders over their careers, they get a shut out almost every 15-20 games.

Marky has 2 shutouts in 209 games now.

Nice of Granlund to try and up his trade value last night.

I wonder how many teams have called about Roussel

I am usually the first one to throw Marky under the bus but I disagree. The guy has had a stellar season thus far. he has stolen games and kept us in most. He has been one of our best players all season. I for one will give credit where it’s due. He has also gotten better as the season has gone on.

I think that’s a poor measure to determine if a goalie is playing well. I stand by my opinion and will praise Markstrom’s game lately.

If people choose to be open minded and criticize each game on its own merits, no free passes to any players. Markstrom isn’t a concern with these losses, it’s the team in front of him. I said last night these guys can’t make a tape to tape pass to save their lives, and the defensive side of their game is mind boggling.

Without a doubt. He is showing improvements for sure. But 'stolen games for us' not sure I can get there. He keeps them close, but I honestly don't remember a game this year where he stole one outright...but could be wrong.

Also true. Watching that first period was painful. Men against boys. We are 2-3 players away from sorting that out IMO. Hughes and maybe OJ next year and maybe a UFA winger to keep Bo consistent. Didn't like the line shuffling last night.

Pettersson with Leivo and Roussel...

He’s a starter, just a middle of the pack starter.

his numbers this year, at this time, compared to last year at the same time, are night and day. He has definitely been one of the most improved players on this team this year.

No one who thinks Markstrom has done a good job this season is comparing him to Roy or Hasek, Niemi won a cup, Marky could too if the team was better.
