So far no one has joined me on the Pearson isn't that good bandwagon.... what is this 7 games in a row without a shot on goal?

So, uh..... you guys really don't have any defensemen that are good at all other than Letang eh?

Lol at Riikola just kind of laying down and not doing anything to stop Svech from going to the net.

Johnson and Petterson were terrible. I don't think Johnson got the puck to an outlet winger even once. Dude's as bad as Gudbranson is in Vancouver.

Looks like it really did just come down to a personality thing and not meshing in the locker room for Brassard. You can tell through this interview that he felt more like a mercenary than part of the team here.

Still think there had to have been some injury/decline factor in there too, though. He was insanely poopty here to the point there needs to be some physical component to this. No way it was all 100% mental.

I'm with you. I see him in the same light as JJ. An ok depth player who is overpaid in $ and term.

Good read, just goes to show professional athletes are more than a video game.

Our local professional has told anyone that askes that he would rather not play for Pittsburgh because of the added pressure of being from the area.

Letang and Dumo are a good top pairing. Beyond that the Pens have 6 bottom pairing defensemen. Schultz is a solid 2nd pair when healthy.

This is why I think they need to be in the market for a big upgrade at LD for the second pair. Need to take some pressure off Letang and roll 2 solid pairings.

Thought it was interesting hearing an interview with JR indicating they are no longer in the market for wingers...

The wildcard in there is whether they see McCann and Bjugstad as C's or Ws moving forward. Going to keep holding out hope they can get Duchene or Schenn however unlikely.

I think he should be with Geno. He has good hands and a good shot I'm not dumping him so fast unless they swap for another winger. I like him though. Hes like Rust right now before Rust broke out. I think he just needs a couple and he'll be good. Plus he's won a cup before so he knows what needs to be done.

What do we need wingers for? Both McCann and Bjugstad play C/W. If anything they should improve the defense.

I barely noticed him against the Penguins. Is he really worth a 1st or 2nd RP?

If Connor McDavid gets paralyzed tomorrow, he's still getting paid for all 8 years that he signed. That is why he took the 8-year deal.

No. Of course not.

Granted he's been coasting for the last week or two. Dunno if they told him not to get hurt again or what but he doesn't seem to give a poop at all lately.

At this point, JR needs to focus solely on the defense if he's looking at another trade.

Exactly getting Schultz back and adding a top 4 dman is what we need.

Pretty disappointing outcome last night. Pens had so many chances, they could of been in the lead before the Canes even scored.

The forward group has been totally shook up AND Geno is missing but they still had those chances and created opportunities.

The D outside the top 2, more so the bottom 2, was horrendous. When Schultz comes back Im not sure I can stomach watching JJ still being in the lineup anymore. I focused on the pairing alot last night...and almost every time they were on the ice the puck was in Pens zone for long stretches.

There's no doubt in my mind Matthews (and his camp) only wanted 5 years so he has the option to get the F out of there if he want's all while upping his annual salary much more.

haha I'd probably do it. Isn't Green injured though?

Addison is the only piece I really care about there.

Pens had some good chances off the beginning and then again when they pushed late in the game, but after the Canes first goal they kind of got rolling and Pittsburgh never really got going after that.

Slavin-Hamilton did a great job against Crosby.

I dunno who runs your D there, but if you have last change you probably shouldn't get caught with JJ and Petterson out there against Aho and Nino.

Svech didn't even want to celebrate his late goal. I think he was a bit surprised that nobody really tried to stop him at all.
