Meh. They are playing entertaining hockey. Not always good but at least guys are playing like they give a poop. - Elbows15
And have been for over 20 games - even in the losses, even in the 5 game losing streak preceding this 6 game winning streak.
I’d still be surprised if they made the post-season - but the numbers are getting in the “possible” zone.
This streak has to end at some point - let’s see what happens in the several games after that. |

He was frustrating. Some of it was just bad luck. Until the last month of last season he was rocking a 56CF%. He was doing a lot right. However, i think he went back to the basics this off-season He seems better conditioned. - Elbows15

Defensively they looked really out of sync. I'm sure the rotation of guys is part of that, but they do need to clean that up.
I like the brand of hockey they are playing. I just want them to play it better. Tonight cemented to me what you have been saying for a while. Perlini is not worth a spot. His penalty notwithstanding, he loses the puck easily, and is out of position a lot.
Now we know why Kunitz is playing. - Chunk
Bring Johnson up. At least we know he will bring the effort. Perlini is a lazy player.
I will even say maybe, just maybe, he is frustrated and that can cause a player to look lazy but he needs to start doing some little things. Win board battles. Be strong on the puck. He is bringing none of that. His ass has been sat a lot. The message is pretty direct. |

His puck strength is back - getting it, keeping it, getting it back, doing something good with it. |

Gibson was the only reason the Ducks started as strong as they did. He is exhausted, reminds me of the Hawks last year that once Crawford went down, everything fell apart. - LAHawk
out scored 31-7 in the last 6 games...wtf...thatsa a -24
the jets lit them up 9-3 a few games ago

They got shut out by the Sens tonight 4-0. From what I've watched of them, they look like the Hawks last year. Just a lot of mistakes and they get pinned in their zone often. |

I think that his where the off-season came here. I honestly think he put more into the summer than he has in the past. |

Perlini - another young player who came up too early, I think - in the Show at 19, only 17 games in the “A” two seasons ago.
I know I keep harping on it - but it’s very difficult to go directly from the Niagara IceDogs to the NHL without learning the pro game at one level down. AdB could do it; DuClair couldn’t do it; Strome has struggled; Perlini hasn’t found it at all. |

Benny Hill was the best, I remember watching his show as a kid. It would never be made today but it was hilarious. - DarthKane
Have a great friend who is a Brit and love digging him by including Benny Hill in my listcas the 3 most influential Brits of the 20th century. |

And there is more in the tank I think. Tanner LOVED Strome (and also hated Perlini), Tanner is most often wrong on matters of hockey, but I think he had it right with those two. |

Just watched the Delia interview. The guy is really straightforward. I like his approach. I just wish he could find a way to settle down a bit during the game.
Loved the stop he made on Pettersen in OT. |

Well, the good news is that there was all that talk about what Schmaltz was going to ask. Strome might actually be worth it. I didn't hate Schmaltz, but I like what Strome brings much more. He just knows how to get position, and is strong enough to stay there. He also has a really good shot that he is not hesitant to use. |

He had a couple big saves, but that breakaway save was awesome! California kid does it again. |

Yeah, I agree there's more coming. I think it helps that: A) he's playing with his best friend who he has obvious chemistry with, and B) Toews, Kane and Caggiula are taking the opposing team's best defensemen. |

The way they win lately is no abhoration because defense is generally weak in the NHL. The way they win also has a lot to do with Gus. Love him, hate him. Maybe your feelings run hot and cold over his roster spot. But he isn't changing addresses this season!
No more Gus trade proposals, at least until some dmrn prospects arrive. |

Stan’s getting Strome and Caggiula have really been a big factor in the recent success.
Perhaps a small sample size, but those two have let Colliton ice two effective top-6 lines, a good third with Saad and Kahun, and a top-notch first PP unit.

yes...something has changed league wide: scoring is up
is it just a decline in defensive play, rule changes, more penalty calls..or just to alot of great offensive weapons and snipers around the league
and gust is not going anywhere....his def has also improved of late..
wild card teams may not reach 90 pts in the western conf
