Was there once. probably the closest you get to Europe without going to Europe.
Now we can add travel to the list of discussion topics along with the environment, fuel cells, crooked politicians and Canadian taxes/healthcare. - boilermaker100
So long as you add in a comment about the hockey I don't see a problem.
How about them Hawks? |

If anything does happen, it will most likely be at the TDL when teams get a little panicky and give up more than they should. Stan will not be a buyer. at "worst" he will be making a hockey trade that gets an active player back.
I'm not really on board with the "Stan shouldn't move anyone" thought. If there is a move out there that benefits the team, I think he does it (especially for one of the rotation D that we have right now. - Chunk
I don't think Stan will be a seller or buyer at the TDL. Think about it, seller usually means getting back picks/prospects, so those players would be years away from being useful. The Hawks are in RETOOL, therefore they need pieces that are NHL ready, so that they can be competitive in the next few years. Stan also will not be a buyer though, as he doesn't want to sell off any promising pieces he currently has. I think he will make any hockey trades there are, and maybe sell on some of our lower, hitting UFA status, pieces for young players that are close to or are NHL ready, as he already has been doing this year. |

Uncle John is gonna possibly weigh in on this one.......Panerin.... offer Columbus prospects and possibly a high pick only if he will sign . Somehow I feel this lurking behind the scenes. And the Patrick Kane factor also.
Same with Bryce Harper.... he's waiting till the last minute for the Cubs. If he truely wanted to be in any of those other cities, he would have signed by now, especially with talks heating up with the Giants for Heyward. |

Yeahhhhhh but because he doesn't move or get involved, the PK is cheating over to cover the remaining PP unit. - Assman22
Hawks have had the best PP in years and are scoring at will when having the man advantage. So I don't get your argument. |

How many times will the Yotes trade and re-acquire Dauphin? He's now with Trashville, who have been the most active so far. |

I also wouldn't trade anisimov at the TDL, he is a perfect 3rd line center, and if we trade him, there is no one to replace him right now. Maybe they trade him in the offseason, if they think they have a replacement for him, but not during this season. |

Fair enough. I can see him moving AA for the right price, and one or two of the "rotating" D that we have. Kruger, Kunitz (if he wants to be moved), Hayden's name has been out there as well. I'm not advocating for these moves, but I can see them happening as long as the return is right. Stan is in a higher leverage position right now, so if he can take advantage of it, I'm all for it. |

Great move, sign a winger we don't really need, sucking up cap space that prevents the Hawks from addressing their MAIN weakness-defense. The 9 or whatever million Panarin will get could get the Hawks a legit top 4 D-man and a solid bottom 6 secondary scoring type. |

Really need to stop this man to man crap. I watched the d really closely last night. Guys still don’t know who to pick up. When opposing D men come down in the zone it’s complete chaos. I watched seabs stand still and let a d men walk right by him to the net. He didn’t know if he should take the puck carrier or check the winger parked infront of the net.
You can’t play man in today’s NHL. Not when offense now involves all 5 players carrying the puck and moving without it. It doesn’t work and you can see Hawks players thinking on the ice instead of reading and reacting. Recipe to get beat and give up a lot of prime scoring opportunities. - bhawks2241
They may look lost at times but there's other times they're aggressive and making plays. With Q last year they led the league in odd man breaks, they looked so much worse |

giving up prospects and a high pick for what comes free later on
is horrible asset management, but now that Mcd is getting involved
spells disaster coming.
A hockey trade works better, AA for Burakosky works for me. Strome
and Burakosky played together and JC might know him from time

Spoke with wiz a couple days ago about Blackhawks. Below is excerpts of that conversation but know that i am expressing or concentrating more my viewpoint here and not claiming this is wiz verbatim
Re: dmen
FORSLING. He MAY be given until xmas to improve. Will he - hard to say. He has desirable ability with that shot but moreover it is the skill set in quick react at speed. He may be best among current guys in Chicago in the latter point (according to wiz last season) but more goes into being an NHL dman than that. Teams nowadays strive to carry two, three puck movers who can make plays at speed.
In an old conversation i recall how I Cole fit into a role and Penguins won the Cuo (i think they won it with him). Next season (later on anyway) Cole was thrust into a position of needing to read react make plays at speed. He failed. That is why they moved on from his services. I have not looked to see role he plays in Colorado but their defense is chok- full iof underachieving talent such as Barrie and E Johnson. Add Cole most likely.
So is Forsling going to keep serving up pizzs. I "dk."
KOEKKOECK. This guy just fell into the right spot. If you notice his strength from his junior scouting report as well as his success with Chicago, know that he has been a pro for a while and just needed to get an opportunity. He is ready and he probably is going to become a solid third pair....cannot say if he could become a solid second pair...let us just see how he turns out. But i am glad mother fortune brought another good skating puck mover and am encouraged by his consistency (defensively) and the pbysicality he shows. Not a behometh but he will check or dump you on your fanny - excellent\team needs more of this.
ON PROSPECTS. I "dk" that Mitchell is all that great. Good stick and can help offensively....maybe can play here adequately and soon....but he didn t play so great in WJC to influence the thought that he will be so good in NHL. Beaudin is the one who appears to be closest to ready from defensively speaking.
It is probably too soon for Carlsson to excel in NHL as well although i like him a lot... Iike his competitiveness and skating plus he could complement other prospects like Boqvist. Since coming to Rockford i trust the reports/analysis AEL_FOX provides. I have not this season made it to a Rockford game nor seen Carlsson.
I also have therefore not seen Gilbert although i did see Hillman once last season. I believe Chicago does not make playoffs and will give a couple late season games to maybe Gilbert or Mitchell if he signs. They cannot easily give each prospect a cup of coffee this season and they have seen Hillman already. Maybe they want to see Gilbert and to tell him to be careful hiw often he picks spots to join rush etc al as it will hinder his development to playing NHL.
Raddysh is too much like Gus and until he improves his effort and accountability i dismiss his NHL look. From a ticket standpoint, though, some team may one day capitalize on having him and apparently his more highly touted brother (Tampa Bay Ligbtning) in same line up.
I just wonder if and how Galvas could come along.
Gus will get descent money but right now they need his type on this defense. It remains to be seen how his overall game might improve and the timetable for each of tbe prospects being next season is probably pushing it.
The exception is Jokiharju. Should be playing in Chicago next season. Wiz does not seem ready to say that tbe ykung dmen play scarred....let's see how that turns out because at least with Jokiharju i bet he handles it. Concussions always is a concern for all players. Yet Jokiharju is very young so expect him to become stronger and smarter regarding physicality. |
