The Predators are re-acquiring Cody McLeod from the Rangers for I believe a 7-th RD pick. Trade call hasn't happened yet.

LETS (frank)ING GO! GOODBYE TO THAT USELESS PIECE OF poop!

This might be Gorton's biggest win of the deadline.

I can't wait until this escalates further and I can flag his comment again. Maybe he'll take another week in the sun.

No he's probably angry. He wants to build up a large tank battalion.

Meanwhile, Nashville is turning into grit/heart/sandpaper city. They give up a 1st for Hartman last year, a 2nd for Boyle this year, reacquire a poopstain like Cody McLeod.

The only problem I see with, hypothetically, Gorton waiting out the market and setting his price high for a guy like Zuccarello is that teams will balk at that and try to go fill their needs elsewhere.

A team like CGy, who's rumored to be interested, may go and try to find another similar player that would be cheaper instead and if Gorton doesn't budge he may be left out in the cold as the clock ticks down to 3pm on the 25th.

- eichiefs9

I agree with this. Especially on some of the lesser pieces like Names or Zucc, if he tries to wait to long, the market could dry up, or the return could be very underwhelming.

Mcleod obviously is not the answer, but I always thought the speed/size thing was a pendulum. Now everyone is going with more speedy lineups, maybe now a team will build a bigger lineup to counter it. Then teams will copy that until the pendulum swings the other way again.

So you think players like Mcleod are the answer to stopping the like of let's say, Kyle Conner?

It could be a 2090 7th round pick for all I care. The fact Poile was dumb enough to give up anything for him is amazing.

A clear win for Gorts! Claimed off waivers and eventually turned into a draft pick.
You watch as he puts that 3rd last pick of the draft into a package that shakes the Earth!!!!

Yea but the "size" players can't keep up with the speedy ones. Even the little dudes. Size is good but you gotta be able to skate in today's NHL.

This is what was expected in terms of value. They took Riley Hughes in the seventh round last year. Worth getting anything back for him on the hopes of maximizing the pick. Wonder if this means Meskanen or Andersson gets called up.

We all like to rip on him. He did his job. Came to play nightly. Didn’t take a shift off and maybe set an example for the younger players. There is value in that. Maybe not to the level we would like, but playing hard on every shift and maybe being a vet in the locker room sets the right example.

They do have to skate, that's for sure. I know this is a way too simplistic view of today's game, but in the past 30 years we have gone from offensive-defensive-offensive-defensive-trending offensive now. As we learned in the 90s, guys like McD will always get theirs, but you can just suffocate alot of other options with size. We've seen guys like Krieder, Nash, etc use their size and just be unstoppable on the puck. Since we brought him up today on the other thread, I just wonder when a team will try to recreate their own version of the Lindros legion of doom line. As long as those three forwards can play, it would be pretty hard to defend against.

Well said. He did what he was paid to do. Any roster moves? Need to get someone on the Turnpike now to make it in time for tonight's game.
