I agree with RW though...I really want to see what Pett does away from JJ and with a guy like Letang. Interesting, no doubt.

I dont watch too many games any more these days, but a month ago he was behind the net, 1 attacker all he had to do was make an easy pass up the boards to the F. Nope, completely muffed it right to the attacker. The worst Dman on my beer league team could have made that pass.

Yep, he just overthinking everything and it causes such slow reactions...maybe he needs some Adderall?

Fun Fact: 2nd line center Matt Cullen has the 3rd worst 5v5 Rel CF% among forwards with 300 mins TOI this season.

How are either of the Pyatts still in the league?

I'm not super familiar with the big Euro soccer leagues and know (frank) all about cricket so I can't answer that. As far as North American sports? Yankees-Red Socks and Ohio State-Michigan are up there. My NFL nominee would be Eagles-Cowboys. NHL has a lot of equally good ones so its hard to choose. I'd probably pick one of Chicago-Detroit or Boston-Montreal, with the nod to Boston-Montreal since they still play in the same devision.

Pairing those down to which is the best? (frank) man, I don't know. Its tough to compare rivalries cross sports. My nod would probably go to The Game, but its not even my favorite rivalry in college football.

That's not a rivalry. That's as one sided as it gets.

The Penguins best shot came from a post-gaz writer:

"McElhinney, a 35-year-old journeyman whose hairline has started to retreat into its crease, has strapped on the pads for seven NHL teams..."

That 35 year old journeyman has the 2nd best save % in the NHL over the last 3 years of any goalie with more than 50 appearances.

I'm quickly losing faith if these reports are true. It's TIOPS, but it does go in-line with other reports from legit media outlets.

Basically, the plan from the get-go was for Bjugstad to be Sid's RW and McCann to be the 3C. Basically when healthy it's some version of this:

Jake-Sid-Bjugstad
Rust-Geno-Kessel
Pearson-McCann-Hornqvist
ZAR-Cullen-Simon

For the most part, some combination of Jake, Sid, Simon and Rust works for longer periods than they don't. I don't see the need for Sid to have an upgrade. I really wish the first choice was for Bjugstad to play 3C pushing McCann to the 4th with Cullen on the wing.

I also don't understand the logic of the current lines at practice. If they really believe McCann is the man for 3C, why isn't he playing 2C in Geno's absence over Cullen?

On the flipside, I'm glad to see JJ moving to the 2nd pair because maybe this will finally expose how terrible he is in the eyes of the coaching staff.

Teddy might throw a wrench in their plans with a other possibly 3rd Center option. Which sounds wonderful.

Oh, and Murray is being evaluated for an injury, so there's that.

Matt Murray has an upper-body injury, Mike Sullivan said. It is not a concussion. Murray will make the trip, as will Evgeni Malkin and Justin Schultz.

Probably not a bad idea. I'm starting to gain concern for Murray's fragility.

with the recent FLA trade and all the JJ talk, it got me thinking...if I was playing revisionist history (and being realistic) going back to the off-season. I wish we would have traded for Hoffman. I thought the psycho fiance thing would blow over, wouldnt take much to get him, and hed be an excellent fit here.

The insane thing is GMJR only wanted JJ and targeted him...pretty sure he had no one to bid against to get him. Props to JJs agent I guess.
