with the recent FLA trade and all the JJ talk, it got me thinking...if I was playing revisionist history (and being realistic) going back to the off-season. I wish we would have traded for Hoffman. I thought the psycho fiance thing would blow over, wouldnt take much to get him, and hed be an excellent fit here.
- YouMeAndDupuis9

Wasnt there more to the story or something? I remember it wasnt all her being psycho and he was defending her pretty hard. Either way Hoffman and Karlsson are off the roster. So IDK....but i agree with you.

Honestly its such a nonsense move that it may actually be Sullivan trying to find any fit that justifies keeping Johnson in the lineup and that he's close to scratching him. I doubt that's the case but its at least a possibility.
- Victoro311

Yeah... I'm not reading anything into this since Schultz is returning very soon.

Don't get me wrong, I'd have moved him to the press box, but this is extremely temporary and the way Sullivan juggles things, it might only last a period.

Yeah JJs agent had smoke going that MTL was offering a big contract IIRC

This is an honest question... Does JJ and Orpik have the same agent? If it is, he's a f'n magician. Masterful job when you get people negotiating against themselves.

I really wish one of you would step up and email Sullivan some of these charts you devote your fandom to. Be proactive in your JJ hate, not just repeat the same ideas to the same people everyday.

I'm sure most agents are scumbags to an extent so considering a lot of GMs are idiots it probably isn't that hard.

I emailed him that JJ needed a bigger role.

I'm not super familiar with the big Euro soccer leagues and know (frank) all about cricket so I can't answer that. As far as North American sports? Yankees-Red Socks and Ohio State-Michigan are up there. My NFL nominee would be Eagles-Cowboys. NHL has a lot of equally good ones so its hard to choose. I'd probably pick one of Chicago-Detroit or Boston-Montreal, with the nod to Boston-Montreal since they still play in the same devision.

Pairing those down to which is the best? (frank) man, I don't know. Its tough to compare rivalries cross sports. My nod would probably go to The Game, but its not even my favorite rivalry in college football.

You guys are looking at this the wrong way... Petterson on the first pair and Johnson on the second looks like they are auditioning them for a trade.

If they bury Johnson he will be on the payroll forever. Give him some minutes with someone decent and maybe he has an ok enough game for someone to want to trade for him.

Those lines make it look like the Pens have a trade pending for a new 2c or Malkin returning.

No one is taking the Johnson contract even if he plays well for a little while. He's here to stay.

Like I said, I don't follow the major European soccer leagues so I can't speak to any of that. But I'm assuming the biggest sports rivalry in the world would come from one of those leagues.

To be honest I’d rather bury him and pay him forever and use some AHL scrub that is probably better than him anyways.

I’m really hoping this “promotion” finally exposes his weaknesses and from this point he’s under the microscope when he goes back.

How is JJ still considered top 4 after his performance this year (or any year)? Where does Simon fit? Yes bourque and caufield (who will never criticize the franchise) keep saying "he sees the game similar to sid" has 2 goals while on Sid's line. He is the only guy who gets rubbed off the puck more than connor sheary.

Any chance that Sully's golden boy Murray gets traded? he is 24 years old, has 2 cups and is signed for a few more years under $4M.

Actually yeah, now that you mention it I think you're right. I recall things about Mtl as well... Now whether thats true or not who knows. Even still it's a f'n dumb contract. I just never understood the 5 years of it. I admittedly was in the see how it goes, he might do better with those players and systems camp... But the contract made zero sense... It didn't take me long into the season to realize I was in the wrong camp.

I don't see it happening. Whos the replacement with a 3.75 mill cap hit?... Or are they moving other rosters players to fit the goalie they're trading for?

Next year having both goalies locked for a combined 5 mill cap hit is pretty good value IMO.

Yea there's just no need to do this. Why is everyone coming up with the craziest moves the last few days. We got some in here with a list of 5 things to do before trade deadline and really all we need to do is grab a competent 4-5 dman and either play JJ third pair or scratch him.
