I’d put Biega on his off side with Guddy and shelter the crap out of them, maybe give Bris a look with Tanev as a middle pairing and ride the new top pairing.

i have thought that Gudbranson is long overdue for sitting a game or two in the box due to his play, but i agree, if we have to play him, we should shelter the pair and use them when needed.

Goody’s true value will be revealed in the playoffs, where he will be able to keep the opposition honest.

Whatever that means.

Oh the irony.

He's not on the team because Benning spent 3 million on an older more developed version of the same player. Guance is a capable 4th liner, doesn't mean he's great or even good. But he's capable according to all advanced stats.

If he was he would be on the team plain and simple, nothing you post about poor Gaunce will ever see fruition unless he gets sent to another team desperate for a press box player

Many scouts, and I'll point to Corey Pronman specifically, will tell you that he is not as skilled as Pat Kane, so there's that.....

Its not the worst draft I've read but it's really not a great one either. I think if youre the Canucks and you have an opportunity to grab Bowen Byram or Broberg, you do it because you arent getting guys like Kakko or Hughes at this point and neither is any better than say Horvat in their prime.

I can't wait for the roasting!

I have it on good authority that Pronman is a ponce. He hated Petey, therefore he doesn’t know what he’s talking about...

I thought any player who wasn’t on the team wasn’t there because they didn’t deserve to be there?

A bit to generalized for me, Gaunce was given several opportunities, the coaching staff have determined that Gaunce is not up to NHL caliber and have sent him to Utica.

i don't think that is what makita implied, or what anyone implied. two players can be playing in Utica, at two completely different stages of development, and be seen totally different by Canucks management.

Surely we don't look the same at Kero like we do Gaudette
or we don't compare Blujus or Suacerman to the likes of Brisebois and Juolevi.

Not mine, no.

My assertation is that Benning went out and upgraded the LW position at the bottom of the roster by signing Schaller and Rousel. I thought that if Gaunce wanted to make the team he would need to beat Granlund out of a spot, because the two new guys would be gifted a roster spot.

Turns out Rousel has been worth his new deal and Schaller has not, yet still remains with the team.

You say Gaunce is in Utica therefore he isn’t an NHL player. I just made the leap to another player who played NHL games this year, who also finds himself in the minors because of a roster squeeze.

You are comparing guys without NHL contracts now. You have taken hyperbole to a whole new level!

Was reading a debate on if it was a ‘clean’ hit or not. General consensus, a bit late, possibly a 1 or 2 game suspension in today’s NHL.

To respond to the first bolded..." the coaching staff have determined that Gaunce is not up to NHL caliber and have sent him to Utica."

And the second bolded is just what you stated...You just made the leap.

I truly believe that any player that out preforms an other player will be given a chance. Gaunce did not out preform anyone...even Schaller.

Kane and Toews are back in peak form and the Blackhawks are surging - all without Corey Crawford. I have to admit, I kinda like their playoff chances all of a sudden.

But hopefully the Canucks can snap the Chicago winning streak tonight. Here's the new blog:

Thats funny....

He has since walked back his judgement on Petey and explained how he came to the conclusion he did on him.

Scouts get poop wrong on occasion....and more than just him have said that Hughes may not be the super highend player that he's being touted as.

Time will tell. Regardless, if the Canucks won the lottery, you take that mother(frank)er in a heartbeat!

Well that’s a new one, Demko participates in one practice gets injured and it’s the head trainers fault.

If he was capable he'd be here. But hear what you are saying.
- LordHumungous

Schaller isn't capable... but he's here.
I don't think being capable has anything to do with the current lineup otherwise pullout wouldn't be on the roster.
