Good article Pach. Hopefully the line juggling pays dividends tomorrow. Obviously a "must win" game.
Like many others, i would rather see TT in the line-up than one of Sobotka or Okposo. Maybe they are show-casing them leading up to the trade deadline (wishful thinking). Also, I cannot wait to see the last of Scandella and Bogo. Trade them for a basket of Timbits, bring up Guhle and play one of the other clowns we have on D. |

Yeah. Wow.
Housley sucks.
I truly wonder what this team would look like with even a semi competent coach. Probably a better powerplay at the very least. I know, I know we scored last night.
Sobotka's usage
Pilut sitting/Scandella playing
Not calling up players sooner
Force feeding Hutton despite Ullmark's play
Now sitting Tage
Done. I'm done. Fire Phail.
I get it, he made the right decision with Pommer during the streak. I'm not sure I can point at another inspiring decision from the man in two years now. - RhinoFan
Truly head scratching to me. His attachment to veterans is awful

Thompson better be hurt.
Housley is going to keep Sobotka in after two horrible turnovers, and ZG, who did absolutely nothing? Thompson created two beautiful chances and drew a penalty (he took one too, but still). How did that earn him a demotion? - jcragcrumple
He's not hurt. He's the extra skater, rotating him in. |

we had cbc to watch it - homiedclown
that era was cool because there was no internet or 24-hour channels...we watched the game, went crazy when they won and talked about it all the next day...if we watched it on tape-delay, it didn't matter because no one spoiled it for us

Kind of incorrect Michael. ABC requested the game moved to prime time but the USSR said no, so the game was played at 5. No internet back then BUT you could tell something happened because just before ABC started showing the game at 8 their cameras showed a shot of Main Street Lake Placid and people were going nuts, so we new something was up. |

The Timmy’s experiment failed in St. Louis. They closed all of the stores I am aware of and the blues dumped them as a sponsor. Now it really sucks to live as a Canadian in St Louis. Maybe the blues will make the playoffs so I don’t have to watch Cardinals baseball at every bar in March |

i'm not upset Thompson is sitting...not upset Okposo's on the third line instead...i'm just not so sure that mixing the lines up again helps secondary scoring or a player like mitts who's been playing very well lately |

I love Thompson's shot and stickwork...but he hasn't exactly been lighting it up - Michael Pachla
He's also 2 goals below Okposo, and above Larry, ZG and Sobotka in points. His most common linemates are Larry, ZG, Sobotka and Pominville:
https://frozenpool.dobber...com/players/tage-thompson
He's out-performing these guys offensively while playing with them. I'm not advocating for a promotion for him, but he deserves to be in the mix imo. His -11 is unsightly but better than Sobotka |

Um am I the only one that realizes that Timmy's pulled out of St Loius when ROR got traded there? Did their insurance sky rocket?

Is this what we are stuck with to start next season, especially with the highest of our 3 first rounders likely being in the 12-14 range, and thus likely leading to the selection of a player that won't end up in the NHL right away?
Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart
Sheary-Rodrigues-Thompson
Smith-Mittelstadt-Okposo
Oloffson-Asplund/Malone-Nylander
Dahlin-Ristolainen
Guhle-McCabe
Pilut-Bogosian
Ullmark

Maybe, if you believe Botts will sit on his hands the whole of the offseason and only call up prospects.
I want to believe that in his 3rd year at the helm, he wants to position the team squarely in the playoffs and therefore will need to do more than that in/at:
Trade Deadline
Draft
Free Agency
Next years Trade Deadline
I have faith, and hoping to see Jason use this TDL to
-shed older underproducing players with bigger contracts
-make one hockey trade |

Hutton, no UPL for a year or two at least.
Also, if we're letting Scandella and Pommer go and moving Sobotka, we do have some money to dabble with. I'd expect a trade or two. If not a FA acquisition of some kind to. I do expect them to resign Larsson though. |

Btw - post more, we could use new voices in here.
I did like the line of
Sheary-Mitts-Reinhart
And Skinner and Jack have chemistry, would like to see if some of the prospects could produce up there as well.
Erod plays better at center, but I think 2C is way too big for him...3rd or even better on 4th especially if some new blood with him could yield some goals with him. |

When was the last good FA signing we had? Maybe Hutton pans out. Maybe.
Regarding Larsson, i am fine with bringing him back as the 4th line center who does PK duty. Larsson is the least of our problems. Botts #1 priorities by next training camp is to rid the team of bad contracts/players:
Beaulieu
Bogo
Scandella
Okposo
Pommer
If 4 out of those 5 are gone, then we will be a better (and cheaper) team, even if we just replace them all with Rochester players. |

Jcrags- in person last night:
Tage Thompson looked like an amateur player.
He looked tall and very slow.
I give phil credit for seeing the obvious last night.
The okposo - eichel looked terrible too
53-9-29 looked better
I really like tage, but he was completely out of place last night |
