If Tage sits more than 25% of the time now, I have an issue with it. I'm a big fan of JB, but JB/Phil do take the easy way out on most of the time on roster/lineup decisions.

It's a playoff crunch. If cj and Larsson give you a better chance to win and compete- rage should sit.

It was maybe just a bad game, but he forced himself out of the line up in my opinion. He was worse then okposo.

Who was also bad

Okposo needs to stay away from E-Rod and Smith. Those two can be dynamite together but not if Okposo is there slowing them down.

I don't care if he sits a occasionally, but if he sits too much, or if it's a Smith/Thompson rotation, it's a complete cop-out.

Anton Stralman for a 1 year deal to be the RD on the bottom pair

Stone and Hayes up front

boom

- homiedclown

Honestly, Strahlman for 3 and I be good...
I said that at the start if the season (just for you oh Bored-one)
plug him next to Dahlin...let him naturally fall down the lineup as he play dictates.

Stone is THE guy IMO
I said this yesterday (another for you oh Bored-one, lol.)
Promiss him playing next to Jack on L1

Hayes could be a great get too
I said that last week (Bored yet?)
Although, I see Mitts taking steps... and Reino looked great with him last night
Which I said to do 6 weeks ago.

I wonder what prophecy I'll state next.

It's funny, I actually came home and watched most of the replay. I didn't notice him as much.

When I left the game, I was thinking man he really looked tall , non athletic and slow.

He had a great toe drag tage shot that was nice.

Also the late penalty was bs. Tage hooked, uy t the other dude definitely tucked his stick under his elbow/armpit to make it look worse. He was working hard on that shift too.

CJ looked fast.

- Boss34

Idk, I had a very different impression of his game. TT used his size on the backcheck in (maybe?) the second and created the rush where he bowled the guy over, took the drop pass, and shot off the goalie's shoulder. He also had the shot that got through the goalie and fell at the goal line, but no one was able to poke it in. Drew the penalty for the Erod goal.

But besides that, it's not a competition between CJ and TT, TT was way more effective than at least 3 forwards not named Smith and created far more opportunities than those guys. If Housley wants to rake him over the goals for the penalty, fine, but why does Sobotka get a pass for two horrible turnovers?

It's an issue of Housley rewarding mediocre veteran play over the possibility of growth and production from young guys

I think Stralman should be our #1 target in FA and I’m not being sarcastic. He’s exactly what we need on the d-corps. I think Hayes will cost more then what id like to pay. I love Stone though.
- Pegullaville

Stalman is very under rated, just constantly does what he needs to in his own end

He was great in Toronto, even better in Tampa. As long as it’s less then 3 year term.

I thought of you at the concert last night, was checking the box score every 10 minutes and could not find points in okposo's stat line

if they flip dahlin to the RD spot in the fall, of course it changes things

I would be ok with

mccabe-dahlin
pilut-risto
guhle-bogo

if they fixed the issues up front

I blame botts as well

I mean you could call up asplund for the 3rd line, he has earned a look

instead we are forced to watch a 3rd line winger, pod racer, suck the life out of the 3rd line

then again phil should not bury tage on the 4th line, give him a shot with talent

putting reinhart on the line with casey, tage is the player I would have put with jack

not okposo
not pommer

I am fine with pommer on the 3rd line with a different center

I hear what you're saying, and I understand the broader issues at play with Okposo. I won't fault them for refusing to scratch them, but I watched that game last night and thought the kids looked great.

CJ, TT, Mitts. Obviously Reinhart with one of his best ever.

If they're not willing to take a risk and call up Asplund, or make a trade, I understand it. But when you prioritize 22, 28, 17 and yes - 21, despite his contract and the desire to move him - over the growth of Thompson after a pretty good game. That's (frank)ed up. When you're sacrificing possible experience for TT to play Sobotka over Thompson, what the (frank) are we doing here?

So I don't blame Botterill, I blame Housley

I'm just telling you what I saw at the game.
It makes total sense that tage is the extra forward.
At practice today.
He was slow and looked like a non nhl player.

Okposo was slow and terrible too.
Maybe they get rotated.

Phil made a good coaching decision

In other news:

Erod looked fast and there's an interesting wgr55 interview with him you should check out

🙂

I had alot of hope for okposo. He's just brutal

Okposo, jack and sheary looked like they were on different teams. Glad phil switched that up quick.

Thx, will do.

Regarding the game, everyone is entitled to their opinion, that goes without saying. We saw it differently, but in a broader sense, I just want to see more of the young talent that we hope to have longer

ERod is a really solid 30 point bottom 6 player, hopefully CJ Smith can be the same

I think Thomson is always going to be a frustrating player who looks great one game and bad the next.

In the end if he can get some looks on a competent 2nd or third line I think his skill is useful.

I thought he really did a 180 in NOV but he’s kinda taken a step back again

A third line of Smith-Erod- Thompson is something I want to see
4th line can be Larsson and any combo of Girgs, Okposo, and Sobotka

in 94 nhl games, this year and last year
Erod has 44 points

no reason to expect those number to go anywhere but up as we get better

I think people under value his potential
