Skinner, Reinhart, Dahlin and possibly Mittelstadt will all cash in soon enough.
- Pegullaville

Sure, but let's hope that's smart $ and term. The bad $ is one guy, and a few with 1 year left.

Rochester had 1 shot on goal in the third period tonight.... 18 total for the entire OT game.... we have no offense in our pipeline.

stat line of the night...

Elie, Remi LW 0 0 0 0 -1.

It’s a good thing we have those first rounders. Guys like Pekar, Davidsson, and hopefully Weissbach should be able to make the jump to professional hockey next year

So the Leafs won tonight and got outshot by 14 at home to Ottawa I'm not sure that's a recipe for success

Honestly, Strahlman for 3 and I be good...
I said that at the start if the season (just for you oh Bored-one)
plug him next to Dahlin...let him naturally fall down the lineup as he play dictates.

Stone is THE guy IMO
I said this yesterday (another for you oh Bored-one, lol.)
Promiss him playing next to Jack on L1

Hayes could be a great get too
I said that last week (Bored yet?)
Although, I see Mitts taking steps... and Reino looked great with him last night
Which I said to do 6 weeks ago.

I wonder what prophecy I'll state next.

Good post

#1 Target for me is also Stone
Secondary targets:
Hayes, Ferland, Dzingel

Stralman might be a good fit,
but do we offer him enough $$$ to get him to leave Tampa?
He might be willing to sign cheap to stay there

Thank you Tim Murray, your services will be missed..... Seriously though whose alt is Hatboro Swords. Idk if that guy is a troll or is just so out to lunch it hurts. The 3ER that’s wrong all the time but is always right. Makes me laugh.

Eichel 10, Skinner maybe 8 Benn 9.5. I don't know
- SABRES 89

When considering Benn’s Cap hit, Age, &
Style of play...
it’s a risk
Probably too big of a risk for what we’d have to give up

Use that $$$ to go after Stone this offseason
Or maybe even Hall next offseason

I think JB is gonna take a cautious approach and not make any big splash. Even signing Skinner would seem to be a bit up in the air now.

Isn’t that pretty much what’s he’s done and said so far? Do you really think he’s gonna land Stone? Just seems like he’ll just draft and develop.

It's a very good question. If Stone actually makes to UFA, is JB prepared to offer 10m? Based on everything we've heard him say, there's a good chance he's not. Even if he does, landing him is still a long shot.

There will be some significant dough coming off the Sabres’ books. I just don’t see Botts blowing through it quickly on UFAs. And if Skinner does somehow extend here, he’s taking 8-9m of those savings annually.

I'm not even the biggest TT fan, but if Housley is thirsty to get Larsson back in, there are 3 more viable candidates to take out, and the top of the list should be Sobotka

Judging by your advocating for Thompson seems like your his #1 fan. He’s got speed (when he’s not falling down like Bambi every other shift), a nice shot and a few dangles but he’s atrocious everywhere else.

Sobotka plays centre and Thompson mainly plays the wing. Sobotka can kill penalties also. That’s why Sobotka is getting more time than Thompson.

Well no GM really can come out and say they are targeting this player or that player as a UFA
Those guys are still under contract with current teams,
so it would be tampering

And u can still draft and develop if you’re keeping your picks & not trading
Signing UFAs doesn’t get in the way of that

We probably won’t get Stone,
but i bet Botts at least calls to see if there’s interest
Every other team probably will too though

Seems like they just don’t trust a lot of the young guys yet

If you can land Benn, you do it 100/100 times

If we part with a 1st, 2nd, couple prospects, roster player, even then.

- BeadyEyedDouche

Sacrificing our future for a Slow moving winger earning $9.5 mill a year that will be 30 years old to start next season. Yes, that’s exactly what the Sabres need

Agreed. Housley seems more of a veterans guy. Hopefully he’s shown the door soon.

I’m not a huge Housley supporter...
But we don’t have the roster yet for him to really implement the system he wants

Tough to blame the coach when the roster still needs so much turnover
And idk what coach comes in & does much better over the past couple seasons?

Pretty much any other coach, Nolan, lindy would have easily had more wins....
blysma, not so much.... initially I was very much in favor of housley ( maybe more so because I really hated the thought of tocchet) but honestly I just don’t think he makes a good head coach.

You think if they offer Stone $10M per long term ($50M-$70M), he won't come here, as in another team would offer more? Jesus Christ.

If Botterill offers Stone 10MM per year, he should be fired on the spot, before Stone can sign the contract.

Davidsson should make the jump. I could see Pecker taking another year over seas and i don't think Weissbach has proven he is ready yet, let him spend another year in college

they are ahead of us in the standings by a lot and ahead of us in the development curve.. nitpicking how they are winning just makes us sound bitter..
