I wanted to wait for the 50th anniversary jersey and see if Olofsson made the team. But other than Risto, there's not really a jersey I'd buy now except Erod. He's gonna be an RFA though. That is some risky damn business
- jcragcrumple

#26 DAHLIN

next year.

Why buy a Jersey now? Just wait 30 more games. When they start losing again- you're going to be angry at yourself

Rational. I don't think I'd go Dahlin though. Maybe I'll wait for a 50th Mitts

My jersey collection is looking very dated. Blue Vanek, white goat Vanek, Amerks Foligno, USA Miller, and assorted non-sabre jerseys. Needs an update.

Now's the time to win a game, we can put stuff together once we've been eliminated
- mattmoulson

That's what I'm hoping for, I think Tage gets us there over ZG and Sobotka minimally, that's all.

Wrong team but I have an EJ Manual jersey that I could sell you. Cheap.

I have a Myers jersey with a lot of dust on it. I hear ya.

I feel confident E-Rod will stick around. Maybe not long term, but that would be a cool jersey down the road even if he left. I like seeing the lesser known players or those with cool stories on name plates.

Still wear my Sanderson jersey from time to time.

I had a real hard time passing up the "pull the trigger" pun.

Even the most basic numbers: goals for and against, show a significant improvement.
- Lunaion

Yes, they are playing better.
Guess it depends on your definition of much or significant.
What they have done is find a way to win significantly more 1 goal games.

I think it was Kaiser who stated before this season started that the boys lost a ton of 1 goal games in 2018-18, and if they just won half more of those, they would gain a fair amount if points.
It was a good point to make...read on.

Through 52 games, season to season comparison
TYPE....... Last....... This
1G-W....................7..............15
1G-L....................18.............12
OT-W....................3................6
OT-L....................10...............5
SO-W....................0................4
SO-L.....................1................1

So, this year they have won 25 games by 1 goal, either straight up, in OT or Shootout. That is 15 more wins, which has yielded 23 more points than last year (16 pts straight up, 7 pts in OT & SO).

65% of the additional goals this year came in 6 games in which they won by 3 or more. They are still suffering from difficulty scoring...just a couple games skews the torals.

IDK, basic stats are better for sure like you mentioned.
A look under the covers reveals TO ME they aren't playing much or significantly better.
To their credit they have found a way to turn losses in 1 goal games into wins...that is a great sign for the future.

You're 2 weeks behind:

In 2 weeks:
when tage is playing good again, you will be mad at him.

The rest of us will like him again.

Jcrag won't notice the difference of whether tage is playing well or not. As long as 22 or 28 sit.

I think I'm gonna get a new jersey tonight.

The safe bets are obviously Eichel and Dahlin. Those seem boring though. Do I commit to buying an Evan Rodrigues jersey? It seems so dumb, but so right

- jcragcrumple

I heard this as an idea and think I'm going to do it...
Get 26...have the Name Plate changed to be the numbers from the Lottery Balls.
Thought that was great!

I think you're trying too hard. They were 31st in scoring last year, and had a handful of 5+ goal games. They are 17th this year. It's not simply a product of a few big games.

31st to 17th in goals for. 29th to 16th in goals against. It's a big improvement, even to the most cynical.

No, you are right.
Their improvement in their record and points this year though is solely the product of about 15 goals....it created those additional points in tightly contested games.
It isn't trying too hard, I wanted to see if my gut instincts were correct...they are.
They had 3 games with over 5 goals last year at this time.
The problem was they had 17 games...17 of 1 or less at this time.
So, sorry but I cannot agree that a few games skewed their total high last year, they had an abundence of ultra low scoring games. Consider the fact that if you take out six games in which they scored what 23 goals this year, and the improvement is simply abysmal. Abysmal I tell ya.
They aren't significantly or much better, merely marginal.
But whatever.

They uave a long way to go, further underlining that they took a small step forward and aren't one or two pieces away...more like 5 -6

They played the Ruskies in the first medal round game. They then played Finland in the final to win the gold. Splitting hairs, I know.
