McElhinney is excellent.

Mrazek is weird. Makes huge stops but then lets some weird ones in because he never stops moving.

Team plays different depending on who's in net. D get more aggressive with McElhinney back there because they count on him to make the save. They get a bit more jumpy with Mrazek.

My take would be to be a bit more passive on the Canes D if McElhinney's in net and try to cut off passes in the neutral zone, but pressure the hell out of them when Mrazek is in there because they'll feel the pressure more and are more likely to make a mistake.

Keep Eichel away from Slavin-Hamilton as much as possible. They did a number on Crosby a couple days ago and are feeling it right now.

Used to go to omaha knights games (flames ahl affiliate) back in the day (05-07) and McElhinney was just coming up through the ranks. kind of a late bloomer, but cool to see where he is at now.

is rod "the bod" getting his message across?
- Michael Pachla

Yep.

I don't really like his deployment and I think he's got a lot to learn when it comes to managing ice time, but these guys work harder for him than I've ever seen.

Seems a bit much. Ottawa might be keen on taking on a contract like Okposo though because they're gonna need cap hits to reach the floor next season.
- BINGO!

It would be roughly:

1st to take Okposo
1st for Stone
2nd and Nylander for Dzingel

I'm good with that - If Stone & Dzingel re-signed.

It's weird how he's gotten better as he's gotten older.

57 goaltenders have played 50+ games in the last three seasons. McElhinney is 2nd in the entire NHL in save percentage in that time. Only John Gibson has been better over the last 3 years.

White jerseys at home tonight
- Boss34

As it should be.

(Canes don't like their white jerseys and have asked almost every team at every away game if they can switch. They'll wear home reds or blacks 51 times this year, and the whalers jerseys twice.)

Yeah, and like Pachla said, it's probably not a Botterill-type deal.

Sean Tierney was the best follow I've ever done. I'm kind of surprised Tage is so horrid.

They're only wearing the green whalers jerseys one more game this year, vs. Boston in Boston.

They'll probably break out the white ones next year, because why not?
