We want the team to be constantly upgrading, yet someone on here only looks at points, in every discussion he has, whether it is here or in the Flyers thread.
Leivo is a huge upgrade on Granlund Loui Schaller Leipsic etc etc.
No problem keeping Leivo around at all. - Reubenkincade
I like Leivo, he makes Virtanen expendable. Virtanen to Montreal for a 2nd rounder. |

If Canucks are tanking maybe they should play DiPoetro the majority of the games.
The only ones that are tanking are all the GMs in here. - VANTEL
Markstrom to Edmonton for Talbot and Jarvsey.

He’s just finally coming into his own, Id be sad to see him go especially for a 2nd. |

Meh....he is what he is, a third line inconsistent forward. Good asset management would be to trade him if Leivo can replace him. But that's just me. How many third line RW'ers do we need? |

Lefty thinks the team with the most draft picks wins.

They both appear to be similar types of players. Why not have 2 players like this.
Both are playing decent and are the least of this teams concerns. |

I think he has a fair bit of upside and we need 4. He looks like a guy that can maybe play up and down the lineup, creates turnovers. I dunno, he’s on the uptick and could get better. Imo |

I'd like to see what upside he has. He's better than Granlund/Schaller/LE, and still relatively young. - NewYorkNuck
He is producing at a slightly higher rate than he was in Toronto but that's a bit of added minutes and PP time i'm sure. I think at 25 he kind of is what he is. Over 82 games a 30-40 point player.
In the NHL last year for scoring among forwards that's pretty much a 3rd line player. |

ideally 1, but that implies you have both a 1 and 2 RW also
so in our case we need at least 2. maybe 3 |

You only get improvement up until age 22, after that it is stagnant, no more room for improvement.
Not sure why we even consider college free agents, who would all be 22+, like Stecher, who has had a decent enough season at 24. |

No he doesn't. They aren't similar at all.
Leivo is slow and hits nothing.
Virtanen is fast and hits at least something.
Leivo according to nhl.com hits the same amount per game as EP. Which is more than Boeser who is tied with Goldy and Eriksson for Sedin like numbers in hits.
Boeser does need to man up a bit. He's not a small guy. Always going to get pushed around if you don't push back once in a while. |

With Demko on IR when will we get too see MacEwen up, tired of seeing some of these not event players like Granlund and Goldobin holding back a prospect that appears ready. |

I know... i tried to double down with old winky face. Some guys dont hit their peak until way late. JV could be a 30/30 one day for all we know. |

![](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/lol.gif) I'm pretty sure that's full-on sarcasm right there. Virtanen will never be more than he is right now IMO, he just doesn't think the game well enough despite all his physical tools. When he's on, he's great, when he's not, he's really insignificant.
Keep him, trade him, doesn't matter, he won't be the reason the team is successful when it becomes successful. |

I give him at least another year, for sure.
My opinion is, Green prefers him on 3rd line, so he has someone with speed that can create some form of offense, otherwise you have 2 checking lines that don't create much for offense, and 2 scoring lines |

Hits aside, they're similar players, third line guys who could be 20/20 guys. If Leivo can play his off-wing, keep them both and put them between Gaudette next year |

Yup.
I have liked Sutter, but he is just another member of the no-eventful players on this team, like Erickson, who we are stuck with, Granlund, Beagle(who is fine as a 4th line centre).
Would really be happy if at least 1 more player is gone from this team, before season's end, just hope it is not Sven from concussion issues.
Edit: then you have the complete disaster group, in Pouliot Gudbranson( who I was hoping would turnout to be what I saw of him in Florida), Goldobin. |
