EK claims negotiations with Provy are going to be tough (I know it's EK but still) and that Provy could dig his heels in (or his agent whatever)
Bill, since you are a much more trustworthy source, do you have any info regarding contract talks with Provy? - bulet13
doesn't he have a Boras type agent or something? the kid has been their best dman from year one minus a couple bumps so I am sure his agent isn't going to do the flyers any favors. |

Not Bill but i'll try.
I think Provorov is going to come somehwere between the Hamilton deal and Ekblad.
Feel like its going to be 6 years at 6.75-7.25. Somewhere around there. And I'll be fine with it. - J35Bacher
Would the Flyers be in a hurry to get this deal done? He is a RFA. The good thing about another team sending an offer sheet is that the Flyers' work would be done. They wouldn't have to negotiate any more. If no offer sheet is given, then I'm sure they will offer something resonable and he will accept. |

Because let's be honest...The shootouts are stupid...the percentage chance of scoring is really based more on luck than skill...if the goalie guesses right or pressures right when the shooter makes his move is is probably going to make the shooter miss...goalies can take more chances in the shootout...the ice sucks and the puck jumps a lot...to me it a waste..if it goes to a shoutout you should add a moral victory point but each team should only get 1. - JW98FlyerFan
I would like to redo the point system. 3 point games are stupid. They put in the shootout so teams would stop "coasting" for a 1 point tie and try for a win.
In order to keep teams from coasting and trying to reduce the impact of loser points I would do the below:
Regulation Win 3 points
OT win 2 points
SO win 1 point
A loss is a loss. Zero points.
IMO this rewards good teams and teams that put the other team away. |

I think it will get done this off season. I am not too worried. |

It's not going to get to that point. This is easy to figure out... Provy is struggling, the Flyers want to sign him now while they have leverage... Provy and his agent would rather wait so his play gets better and gives him more leverage. The deal will get done, this is just posturing. |

I just don't want the winning to cloud what their goal should be... to get assets for players that will not be with the team next season and to move vets that might be holding back some younger players from cracking the lineup. - youarewrong
I don't think so.
Simmonds will be moved. From things I am reading and hearing from analyst are he is going to easily get a 1st and possibly two young players back or one very good prospect.
Raffl will most likely be gone. I heard the other day that maybe a team like Montreal could use him for depth.
One guy I wonder about because he has played good is Gudas. Physical, right handed dman for the playoffs? Still has term on a inexpensive deal? I wonder what interest could be there. |

Good question. From the beginning of the season he has played well. This board was harsh on him in the past, but this year many people have thought that he might even be the best Dman this year. Well if this hard crowd is saying it, I'm sure that other teams are thinking that as well and would love to get Gudas for the right price. BTW, he put a nice hit on Kovalachuk last night. Didn't get all of him, but enough to force another turnover - mission accomplished. |

they were poor in the first period, 18 shots against, but i thought were much better in 2/3rd periods, and while you can say they were lucky to get one, you could just as easily say they were unlucky with 3 posts and a mere .5 seconds off the clock at the end of the 2nd when they scored on the powerplay. they could have just as well won that game.
stolarz played very well, but was not good in the shootout. made himself incredibly small for his size and despite challenging high ened up shrinking inside the crease/on the goal line. very disappointing there.
not making a big deal of the loss. they need to be better from beginning to end. |

There is nothing in Stolarz game that should make anyone nervous. - MJL
Based on what I saw last night I'm not nervous about him.
I'm nervous about other things, but not goaltending. |

I mean I am not giving him away but if a playoff team offered you a first would you say no? A 2nd and maybe solid prospect?
I like how he is playing and don't mind keeping him but his value might be highest right now |

His play in the shootout made me nervous, he was beat on almost every shot we got lucky with a couple missed shots - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I care about his play during actual game action. He was beaten once more than Quick was. |

Well, maybe nothing in his game makes you nervous, but other people may feel differently. I for one didn't have a warm fuzzy watching him in the shootout either.
I guess we should have kept Weal just for shootouts. - RustyPipes
I'm struggling to understand how anyone could want more from the backup goaltender that Stolarz has given them since he's been back. |

He did, needs some duct tape...or elastic like kids have for mittens
On another note, Drew Doughty is an a## for the hand motions he made on the bench after his team scored a goal... he deserved something more than chirping for that - RajaAmpat
What needs to happen is the penalties called for an opposition knocking the stick out of his hands. It's goaltender interference. |

I wasn't talking about Quick or the Flyers forwards. I'm not saying it's rational, but something about Stolarz makes me nervous, like I'm waiting for him to get exposed. - youarewrong
The point of mentioning Quick is the fact that no goalie can cover the entire net and well placed shots high can beat any goaltender. |

I said this late last night when most of you were probably off the board but why not try to get Ghost going by giving him an opportunity in the shootout last night? He can dazzle with puck and his head fakes are second to none so I would think that could translate into throwing the goalie off.

An offer sheet for Provorov would likely escalate his cap hit to more than he is currently worth. |

simmonds will get us a 1st rounder, top six forward and a prospect
id rather them trade voracek and keep raffl
i don't see any men getting moved unless its double over payment, not much good men out there |

Not going to complain about shoot outs. Some guys are good and some just aren't. Look at Frans Neilsen. Guy is lights out in a shoot out. Other then Giroux, Flyers don't have guys that you would say can dangle a goalie one on one. - J35Bacher
also, seemed to me like many of the Kings' shooters last night had some pretty awful shootout percentages, too. |
