Good question. From the beginning of the season he has played well. This board was harsh on him in the past, but this year many people have thought that he might even be the best Dman this year. Well if this hard crowd is saying it, I'm sure that other teams are thinking that as well and would love to get Gudas for the right price. BTW, he put a nice hit on Kovalachuk last night. Didn't get all of him, but enough to force another turnover - mission accomplished. - RustyPipes
I wonder if you were to offer simmonds and gudas to the jets for Trouba + a pick or prospect if they would go for it. Would give the jets some great playoff depth. We would get a top 3 defender. Trouba would be a great partner for ghost as he is more of a responsible defender. Winnipeg will have to be open to trading him since its unlikely he resigns with them in the summer.
Only issue would be that Winnipeg will probably want to keep him for the playoff run. Morrissey was also just injured so would depend on his timeline as well.

simmonds will get us a 1st rounder, top six forward and a prospect
id rather them trade voracek and keep raffl
i don't see any men getting moved unless its double over payment, not much good men out there - mydoglicks
Voracek would probably be a deal at the draft.
Raffl is a UFA. If I can get a good offer I move on. |

I'm struggling to understand how anyone could want more from the backup goaltender that Stolarz has given them since he's been back. - MJL
Who said I want more? All I said is he makes me nervous. And I even said it was a feeling, not based of anything specific. He has put up good numbers, but IMO has looked a bit shaky doing it. But Hasek always looked like he wasn't in control, so that doesn't mean anything. I am just commenting. |

It is great seeing Patrick playing with confidence. He looks like the 2nd overall pick should look.
Provy is also playing a lot better.
Ghost on the other hand had a rough night, another in a long season.
Thought Stolarz was solid.
Jake looks like our best player. People saying he needs to shoot more, seems like maybe not seeing the whole picture. He is their one player who can dominate the ice. His line with Couts is by far the Flyers most consistent the moment, and the one line generating the most chances at even strength.
Simmonds had a frustrating night. I am curious to see what happens at the trading deadline. If I were an opposing GM I would offer more in a trade to get Gudas then Simmonds right now.
I think the Flyers should keep Gudas unless they are blown away on a deal.
Raffl I think is done with this team. He can't seem to complete a pass. I'd see what they can get for him. I have been a fan of his and earlier thought they should keep him as part of a good 4th line with Laughton. I'm ready to move on from Raffl.
Laughton I like a lot in a bottom six role here. He is developing a bit of chemistry with Patrick although I'm not sure they will be together long term. Patrick is going to be a #1C and Laughton doesn't seem to have the consistent finishing a top line wing will need. |

obviously Jake gets a real nice return if you can make a hockey trade (which is not so simple given his contract), Raffl maybe a mid round draft pick at best |

What do you mean raffle made the pass on the break away goal.
Like Laughton with Patrick, they just need a finisher

It baffles me how there is a Flyers article everyday that gets hundreds of comments and its never mentioned that the Flyers are embarrassing when they go to a shootout.
Any player not named Giroux, should never do the following things
1. Skate in 2 miles an hour
2. Skate to the far left or right
3. Deke to the backhand.
All of the above lower your chance of scoring, and any combination of the 2 lowers it even more. And if a player does all 3 (which happens a lot) the chance of scoring is 0.001%. And FYI, when Giroux does this he hardly ever scores too.
How is this not tracked? How is this not ripped by every beat reporter?
Both JVR and Konecny lost the puck and never got a shot off...in a shoot out!
Ask any goalie, Carey Price or a beer league goalie what they want to face on a breakaway. Skate in slow from a poor angle and deke to the shooters weak side will be the answer every time - kennygarcon
They scored on two of the first three shots last night. You cant ask for much more than that from the shooters. I just cant get worked up over the shoot out. I was at the game last night. After the first three shooters went, and it was still tied, I left. I just lost interest after that. |

Flyers would need to win the trade if they traded Jake. Sorry but wingers like Jake don’t come along offen. And he is cap hit is relative to the total cap.
Better team next year, better Jake. |

Agreed. I don’t think we should trade him. He’ll be hard to replace. Even with the return + our prospects down the line |

Not sure I agree with this assessment. You're making it sound like he's a perennial all star. |

So you don't want more from a goaltender who you think looks shaky? I'd be wrong to assume that? Stolarz did not look shaky at all last night. |

What he is
Good skater
Has size
Perennial assist leader
Drives play
Typically makes his line better
Has career season last season
On pace for 70 points in a year that we say he is struggling.
Plays on a team that had and has huge holes |

Simmer is not a top six, not sure how he would ever fetch what was above
Picks are one thing
Maybe a first and AHL prospect with some upside, depending if simmer will sign with new team |

I think Voracek would be a great piece to move for either Stone, Duchene, or Panarin. Both Ottawa and Columbus could benefit from a player with a long term. Only problem is the UFA factor. I wonder if we could entice Ottawa to take Voracek and Gudas and a conditional 1st for Duchene, Stone, and a conditional 2nd. Very unlikely, but its worth a try. |

His skills are not the reason I would trade him. I feel like he is one of the culprits for the team being so inconsistent over the last 6 years. I dont know whether its his style of play or what. |

Unless they were just looking at possible return I'm not sure what to make of that. |
