Can you please stop doing this. You were nowhere to be found during the win streak. Do the team a favor and keep doing that

Along this line, has our Flyers goalie hating friend been around lately?

Wait someone actually said they would rather keep Raffl vs Jake?

Unless they were just looking at possible return I'm not sure what to make of that.

Seems to me a lull for all the hardcore Team Negative memebers..

The Clown, JoeGreif, HockeyAl and his 97 years experience are all missing.
Still have 2Real though to represent them!

Considering all that Boston gave up on an aging Rick Nash, makes me wonder how Simmonds could not bring back a 1st and an A-prospect.

Nash was still considered a sniper, his skating may have slipped but his shot had not. Simmonds is more of a tip in guy.

My guess is Simmonds is getting a 1st and prospect. Example i used was with Boston. 1st rounder and Ryan Donato for Simmonds.

Maybe if there was a bidding war like Toronto and Boston, two teams who could meet maybe you get an extra pick or b level prospect to push it over the top for one of them

So because we received one point instead of two, it’s time to throw the season? We have such a loser mentality on this board, it’s sickening.

I already know what you guys think. Time to trade Simmonds. Oh well, we weren’t winning this season anyway. In your collective minds, you think you know what Fletcher is going to do before he’s done it...

My question to all is, what do you guys think the players want? The leaders of this core are all 30 or close to. They’re not out of the playoffs, they’re in the hunt. My question to all of you is, should the players feel like you? Throw the season because you weren’t gonna win anyway.

We look like a different team out there since October not only in front of Hart but Stolarz too. We’re getting the saves. You wanna throw in the towel, what do the players want? If I’m Giroux and management is giving up now, then he should want out. You can’t give up every year mid season after 30. Period!

That's where I'm at, especially after Boyle netted the Devils a 2nd. I'm expecting a 1st and a decent, not currently in the NHL prospect. Donato would fit that bill since he isn't a Boston regular at the moment.

I personally like what the Flyers are doing, but if they don't sign Simmons before the TDL, they should trade him. Management can't allow the same thing happen to them that happened to the Islanders.

It's not every year. Last year they added a goalie they needed to push them to a playoff spot. Yes Mrazek was horrid but it was the piece everyone knew that team needed to give them a chance.

The talk of trading Simmonds isn't a dump the year in the toilet move. It's because most people don't see him being resigned. If they aren't going to resign Simmonds you trade him and get resources back that you will be able to use. Losing him for nothing is asinine.

If you are keeping Simmonds and truly making a run the costs are going to be huge with the 3 holes this team would be looking to fill. Are you saying go back to the Holmgren GM style of dumping the farm to make a run with a team that at best will be an 8 seed and face Tampa in round 1?

I am just hoping Simmonds brings a nice haul and we aren't losing a huge part of our team for a 2nd rounder that could never pan out. A trade like a 1st and Donato I could live with. I also hope Fletcher does Simmonds a solid and doesn't deal him until after the outdoor game. He deserves to be here for that game, and it would be nice goodbye for him.

Good point. I'm just hoping that he doesn't get hurt. Someone please remind me, you can't trade someone who is injured can you?

Sure you can. There was a trade a few years back (2, actually, I think) where Edmonton traded for players and didn't make it dependent on them passing physicals. Well, they didn't pass physicals and Edmonton was SOL.

And this is exactly why teams hire GMs and don't let players run the team. Of course players always want to win and go for it. But this isn't a team that was assembled this year or last and hasn't really gotten a shot to put it all together. This is a core that has been together for what, 7 years now?

If the team was in the thick of the playoff hunt and a hot streak took them from WC team to legit threat, I'd be all for keeping Wayne and letting him walk at the end of the season. But this team just rattled off 8 straight and is still 8 points out of the WC2 spot with 3 teams to jump (and 2 more that could jump in front of them thanks to games in hand).

Enjoy the rest of the season, enjoy watching the young players grow, and make moves that make this team better in the future. And I'm not talking about 5 years down the road, I'm talking next year. And trading a player who most likely doesn't have a future here for assets that can have a future here or be used to bring in another player that can is the right move.

Thanks, I still hope that he doesn't get injured prior to the TDL. His value would be lessened and if not traded, he would hold all of the cards.

Flyers would need to make it a even steven trade if they traded Jake. Sorry but turnover machine wingers like Jake don’t come along offen. And HIS cap hit is crap.

Better team next year, bye Jake.
