are we talking about trading simmonds means this is a rebuild? - hammarby31
Because someone really likes him.
This is the same person who said that we were forfeiting the season when we traded Schenn at the draft 2 years ago. |

If Hurricanes make the play-off I even agree. He is the perfect versatility player and with some many rightshot Dman and European trained forwards he would fit nicely.
But are Flyers willing to trade in division? - goenzoy
We are talking Raffl here a 4th line player. If the best offer is in your division you take it. He is not going to come back and haunt you. |

Lol Giroux is the teams best player by a million miles. This is such a false equivalency. Trading a player that is on an expiring contract that you don't plan on resigning is not a rebuild. It's good asset management. - bulet13[/quote
I know you've deceived me, now here's a surprise
I know that you have 'cause there's magic in my eyes
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
If you think that I don't know about the little tricks you've played
And never see you when deliberately you put things in my way
Well, here's a poke at you
You're gonna choke on it too
You're gonna lose that smile
Beacuse all the while
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
You took advantage of my trust in you when I was so far away
I saw you holding lots of other guys and now you've got the nerve to say
That you still want me
Well, that's as may be
But you gotta stand trial
Because all the while
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
I know you've deceived me, now here's a surprise
I know that you have 'cause there's magic in my eyes
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
The Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal are mine to see on clear days
You thought that I would need a crystal ball to see right through the haze
Well, here's a poke at you
You're gonna choke on it too
You're gonna lose that smile
Beacuse all the while
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
and miles and miles and miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles

I don't know if it's one or the other. The Pens, Caps, Bolts, and others let their young players come up and they also make moves at the TDL to enhance the team. We have young players doing well and are getting better. Why can't we make a move here or there to enhance what we have and what is coming? - RustyPipes
We had Ron Hextall for five years and the only moves that he made were the cheapest possible moves outside of JvR. |

AND THEY FREAKING DID IT! So why would he be asking for a trade now because this season went sideways. Look at the recent play. This team is better now than the record shows now. They got their goalie. They got JVR. They are getting what they want except maybe they don't get Simmonds because the powers that be see that Simmonds will be fine for a year or two and then will freaking turn into Milan Lucic. Which I doubt you will be happy if Simmonds becomes that level of player. It's a freaking business some times and hard decisions need to be made. G/Jake/JvR et all will understand that. - dragonoffrost
I should even respond to you for bringing up Lucic. We have no idea what Simmonds will become but it won’t be Lucic. Just a lazy response. |

How can you gaurantee he won't in year 3, 4 or even 5. Take off the fanboy glasses. Power forwards decline fast. Once that wall hits it will be ugly. |

He was fixing Holmgren's Cap mess for three years. Then he got some good kids into the lineup. Guess what that's what is needed to supplement G, Jake and JvR's contracts. Yes they have money to pay Simmonds but do they want to take the risk of the power forward wall at over age 30? They are gambling either way. |

Oh, I understand, and I'm not saying Stolarz sucks, just that he played that wrong. Rookie mistake. That's something he'll learn with time. - Scoob
exactly. if he commits to the butterfly and attacks kovulchuk, he forces the deserter to move laterally, which would have been difficult since his forward motion was almost nil |

I'm not sure what Stolarz was trying to do there. The 5 hole was a gaping grand canyon there. Maybe he thought he could bait Kovalchuk to shoot there and close it up. If so, that was a bad decision. Kovalchuk doesn't skate like he used to but he still has a lightning quick release and a laser of a shot. - MJL
he was trying to be patient and out-wait him and he got lulled to sleep. you're not going to snap your pads together there while waiting. he wants to be on his edges and is anticipating a deke, and still being as low as possible to drive the knees down for a butterfly save. i know it looked bad and that's simply because he didn't move. that's a credit to kovulchuk and how quick the release was. |

that's what i wanted to see. more than anything else, i want to see him use his size and stay at the top of the crease for as long as possible. he practically sunk himself into the net when backing in. ffs, use that frame. he should have the advantage. |

Maybe every other team felt sorry for them and let them win just enough to make the playoffs to make them feel better about losing Schenn for Lehtera. |

You know what really grinds my gears?
Flyers are on a 9 game point streak and are now 8 points out.
The Anaheim Ducks have lost 20 of their last 23 and are only 4 points out........ |

A goalie should not be anticipating a deke with Kovalchuk as the shooter. I'm very excited about the play of Stolarz and I think he's been really solid in regular play but he didn't play that one correctly. He'll learn from it.

he has to be ready for that, especially for someone of his skill level. he basically got hypnotized.
i'm very pleased with his play, and have repeatedly said the kid can play at this level, he just needs a chance, and to stay healthy.
i'd be more than fine with a hart/stolarz tandem next season. |

Kovalchuk is shooting all the way. Scouting tendencies are important. I agree on the tandem next year.

Winning the shootout doubles your points for that game. Not taking the shootout seriously is asinine. Winning 6-1 or 3-2 in a shootout is the same 2 points.
Every player should treat their shootout opportunity as a breakaway in the 3rd period.
Skating on goal 2 miles an hr and a dipsy doo move is total BS. - kennygarcon
I don’t actually play for the Flyers. I’m pretty sure whether I take it seriously or not doesn’t affect the game.
