Stan’s asleep at the wheel again. Another missed opportunity while Stan waited for the bigger, better deal. - DarthKane
Your constant Stan bashing, lack of seriousness in this very serious forum, and pessimism "fills me with the urge to defecate" -Pink Floyd. Get your act together, DK. You're better than this. No virtual alcohol for you ... but that's only because vabeachbear drank it all, but let it serve as your punishment as well. |

I'd trade you for Bingo if there were an actual Canes blogger we could work out a swap with...we may need to add though. |

Ducks getting hammered again 4-0 after one.

Need Preds, Stars and Sharks wins over St,L, Ari, Edm later - boilermaker100

I cannot seriously believe that they would move Parayko.
If Allen ever gets his act together (how much longer does St Louis go with him) then the Blues might knock off a couple teams.
Bowmeester has slipped but V Dunn appears not too bad. Next time we play the Blues i would like our St Louis posters to jump in and tell us how they think the Blues will do the rest of the way as compared to the Blackhawks
Minnesota needs Anderson Ek to step up..Not that he would be enough to propel them. Boudreau recent comment about sone of his players a shadow (or whatever term he used) of their former selves, certainly is a real kick.
If Dallas could establish better scoring after their top line, then they qualify as a darkhorse. Johns still out? Hanzal back? They have a great rookie but the team lacks enough quality parts . Not enough good depth. Which is the cry out of Colorado.
I like what St Louis Braves post said. It is not a big leap to make playoffs. I am curious how Toewes holds up if all the games get much more physical. Really how our team handles it. That is our big test. How we handle teams sksting and working harder should.send a message to Stan about needing a top six and top physical forward.
It is going to be telltale whom he drafts

They have played well since Binnington took the net from Allen. I'd be surprised if they weren't a playoff team when all is said and done. |

Jordan Binnington is the real deal. Watched him in the Ohl play for my favorite team the Owen Sound Attack.
He has the most goalie wins for Owen Sound and there have been some really good goalies come through that franchise.
St. Louis let him season in the minors for 4 years. He is more than capable of taking the number 1 spot in net for them and being very successful at doing so. |

Blues win 3-2 - 35Tony0
The Wild won as well, usually January February is a lull for teams in the playoff race, but with the Hawks being on their winning streak the Wild and the Blues will start playing with more urgency. |

Saw bits and pieces of the game. When they weren't taking it to the Preds, they played shutdown "D" in their own zone. |

Little bit of win streak and some hope and the Tankers quieted down considerably. Next time we lose two in a row they'll be back in full "I told you so" fashion. Get these young guys in a competitive stretch to the finish and if they still fall short their cohesiveness and experience far outweighs the potentiality of lottery odds determining our teams future. |

I'm probably considered a "tanker" and I'm still here. To be clear, I enjoy seeing them win games and this winning streak has been fun, but I think it's better in the long run for them to get a high draft pick than to lose in the 1st round of the playoffs. If their defense and PK weren't abysmal I could buy into the "anything can happen in the playoffs" notion - but they are and therefore I don't.

Its hard to believe the PK is where it is now.
Not that long ago, they had Toews, Hossa, Saad, Kruger and Frolik up front and were almost more likely to net a shortie than give up a PP goal. |

The way they were playing before this PP took off picking 1st was a reality, they were awful, so bad they were competing for the 1st pick in the draft. As painful as it is to say, the best thing for this team is having a single digit number draft pick. It's reality our defense is not so good, from the forwards or dmen. The good news is there's glimmers of hope but imho giving draft picks and young players away is the worst thing this franchise can do. |

So you'd be okay with giving up a first for a rental? That's the right mentality?
Besides being a Hawks fan and rooting for them to win, and knowing the best thing for them is a high draft pick doesn't make me less of a fan, more of a realist,
Btw Was that a serious enough comment for you? |

Watched the preds vs blues no way hawks could match the physical play to win in 7 game seris IMO. Hawks just do not have enough muscle and willing players to play that physical grind it out game. Bowman needs to address that at some point. Maybe not needed as much in the regular season but in the playoffs it makes a difference. |

The Hawks PP might be hot right now, but if feels more normal than before when it was ineffective. People would always say how it was odd the Hawks PP wasn't better with the personnel on it. Now it might not stay this hot, but with it trending up it makes more sense. The Hawks should have a strong Powerplay. They have the players for it. |

In the past teams could take liberties and there was no consequence with a weak power play. Now i feel like in close games teams will tread a bit more carefully afraid of giving the Hawks a power play.
