McDavid seemed jelly after his statement about those two the other day. Maybe McDavid will jump ship and that lethal Erie Otter line will be reunited ? - SoftServe
Did he go to Mr. Mackie's jelly school? |

P. Kane with his 33rd goal in the 3rd at 3:33. This has to mean something right? lol - SoftServe
Hopefully a good omen for me. |

I would love to see Bowman try to add a player who will help now but will also be around for the future. We have the cap space where it might make sense to add someone who is already signed for the next few years, that way we get a player to help for the playoff push but also for the future, and don’t have as much competition from teams looking to add a rental because of pending cap issues like TBL or the leafs. |

I wonder if ol' stan is going to sign those two in July or wait till they rack up the points again and probably will take more money to sign - Like_a_Hoss
Excellent question but not an easy answer.
DeBrincat - for sure, sign him up ASAP.
Strome - all signs are positive but the same could have been said a year ago for Schmaltz. |

I don’t know if the Hawks current offends output is sustainable but overall offense doesn’t seem to be an issue. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Stan focus on upgrading the defense in the off season. |

Can anyone figure that out? |

Since they came back from the All star break, 2.6GA down from 3.55GA, 20 games before the break. Small sample size but....

8th in the league in goals scored.
Unfortunately they’re 31st in goals allowed. |

Better, but still not good enough. The Hawks need some serious defensive depth for the 4th line and I think they could upgrade the D too.
Keith and Seabrook aren’t going anywhere. I like the Dahlstrom/Murphy combo, they’re not likely to be traded but they aren’t guaranteed a spot with. |

I completely agree, i think teams aren't making the Hawks defense pay for some piss poor defensive coverage, but then again that's why most of these teams are out of the playoffs or barely in it |

Boston will be a nice test for this team, but then again i really don't think they are that good, others do, but i just don't see it. |

I think they will probably try to add another dman but also should try to bolster the bottom 6 I don’t think lines 3 and 4 are all that effective and there isn’t really any consistency there.
If Caggiula stays up on the first line, I feel like Saad and Anisimov could make a up 2/3 of a really good 3rd line. I’m not in the dump Anisinov camp, I like the way he plays all over the ice.
I’m just wondering if Stan just looks to add to the roster via trade now instead of the summer because of the way the team is playing. He definitely isn’t looking at any rentals, but they could definitely be active as buyers with their eye on the near future (2-3 years) instead of the long term future (5-6 years) |

Ducks fire coach, replaced by gm ... who's never coached before. - I Am The Breadman
when your team has lost 20 of 22 and looking really bad doing it...the GM should get a front row seat of the mess he has assembled before he goes..

Not really. Strome is playing the position we thought Schmaltz would play ... so let's go ahead and get one of the top two lotto balls.

The Hawks definitely have made it interesting, if they win 2.5 more games than the Wild and all the other teams flounder at 500 they will have a great chance. I keep saying let's first get to 500 before we talk about playoffs. If they beat Boston they will be 24-24-9, quite an accomplishment considering it took an 8 game winning streak to do it.

we all dogged on Ward and what a bad signing by Stan, but man has he been good lately - LAHawk
i know many others will disagree but i thought ward has been very good all year; he had no help facing chance after chance and 40 shots per game during the 1st half of the season with no defensive help...when the hawks just were getting blown out regularly the problem was not netminding..
he is not going to steal games or stand on his head game after game but he will give you a chance to win with some defensive play in front of him |
