I respect your opinion on ROR but we just disagree... We did not HAVE to trade him last year, when we did Botts completely missed on replacing him this year, that falls on him. we can disagree but Im not impressed with the move whatsoever. The only hope I see is if the first round pick works out... Everything else is meh. I personally don't think Tage is anything but a 3rd line player, and the other guys just blow.

Why, because when ROR was here, we were killing it? News flash to anyone still female doging about the ROR trade. We were 93-118-34, or 93-153 for a whopping 37.8% winning percentage when he was leading are team. Think other people didn't notice that? Think other teams were offering more and Botts just took that package he got "because he liked it." Or was ROR viewed as tainted goods who'd been on two teams that sucked as a main player. The guy isn't God, he's a pretty good player that's seemed to have a piss poor attitude wherever he goes if he isn't "The Guy"

That team is all offense, and they 'went for it' with Muzzin. Could the Sabres have also made that deal, and overall bought themselves, what, 2-3 more wins? I guess.

But who here thinks this team is as good as the Leafs, and have a better chance at a cup this year

Present AND future must be accounted for. This is what makes the job so difficult. Especially with this team, who with a refined defense should have no problem making the playoffs. There is so much work to do. Murray got us Bogo for god knows why and Botterill got us a secondary scorer and what should have been a top 4 D for a bottom 6 winger and a guy that got bought out before he was 30.

That all being said, I want Botts to use a 1st on a real, long term, top 4 talent. Scandella and Bogosian NEED to vacate. It's a challenge I am certain he is not blind to.

Plus Ulmark's response indicates it's a non issue. The Sabres have much bigger issues to deal with such as getting rid of Okposo, Sobotka, Bogo, etc.

Dubas is playing real life “Be A GM more” right now if I do say so myself. If we swap out Scandella, Hunwick, Sobotka, Larsson, Girgensons, Sobotka and replaced them with Dzingel, Stralman, Nyquist/Silfverberg this team is going to surprise a lot of people next year. This team as constructed has some really darn good players. It’s the replacement players that are playing below replacement. I have faith that the amateur scouting staff will draft the guys to replace the short term free agent adds and rinse, cycle, and repeat.

The same cliche answers that 99% of NHL players seem to come up with. Anaheim has won twice in 3 months and I haven’t heard anyone on their roster bad mouth anyone on the team.
