This is Bologna. It’s crystal what is likely to happen. Is there a small chance he resigns? I guess if Simmonds comes down - Just5
Now you're hedging your bets and using the term likely. What happened to Simmonds is as good as gone?

Am I hearing this right? People are saying we should trade Jake INSTEAD of Simmonds? Or unload both if right deals come along?
Jake is head and shoulders more talented than Simmer. I'd take Simmers toughness any day but we need to unload him... - cdearth23
Simmonds in my opinion is a very interesting, very complicated situation. If we make the playoffs, you do want Wayne Simmonds toughness, grit and leadership...if we make the playoffs.
On the flip side of the coin, I totally understand getting assets for him but this depends on a couple of things. Is he toast in terms of the players he once was and is he being unfair in Negotiations.
If we are being fair, I’ve never seen a scoring Drought like this from Simmonds before and this happens to ever player at some point in their careers. |

You’re entitled to your opinion, and I’m not saying he should or shouldn’t be moved, but without a replacement, or a viable plan that makes sense, I can’t get excited about moving him. - Hokeeguy9
I think the factors you bring up are nice intangibles but they're not critical to the Flyers in that they have to keep him. It's a different league now.

Agreed. All he has really said is he's not going to hand out deals that don't make sense for the future. That means he could still conceivably sign Simmonds for a couple years at a palatable cap hit. But yeah, my money is likely on a trade at this point. - hereticpride
The speculation that I have on the situation is that the Flyers have likely made a contract offer to Simmonds. He hasn't signed yet so if so, then the deal obviously isn't agreeable to Simmonds. So either the Flyers up their offer or Simmonds agrees to sign. Otherwise the Flyers should move him.

I thought Couturier was bad in the slot on the PP because he wouldn’t stay there. I hate Simmonds in the slot because it doesn’t make sense. Why wouldn’t they move Simmonds to the crease and JvR tinthe slot? |

The rock and a hard place comes in where you want a guy like Simmonds for the playoffs, if you make it, but you don’t want to lose him for nothing if you don’t make the post season. Felch is gonna earn his money and reputation on this TDL and off season. I won’t even get into “it’s a different league now” debate. Every game is pretty much the same.....meh! Very little difference in whom they’re playing on any given night, with the exception of the divisional points. The hate is gone, and so is most of the passion in the game. |

Lucic throwing elbows.
I'm really interested in what the Oilers are going to do this off-season. They need a lot of help and they don't really attract top free agents. Chia really did nothing for them. |

You need long Shaw chins to play for the Habs. Weise is home with all the rest of his weird chin people. |

For me it comes down to how far you think this team can go this year making the playoffs and I don't think they're a serious cup contender so I would ultimately choose to move Simmonds even if they're looking like they can grab a playoff spot. |

He had Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Justin Schultz. He disassembled a possible dream team before reaching the dream. |

Even with McDavid I just don't see what they do to fix that team. Their defense is absolutely terrible, both defensively and creating offense. Their D mean apparently only have 4 PP goals on the year. |

The passion isn't gone at all. It's a skating and a skill game now more so than ever. The extra curricular stuff, fighting is all lessened. The culture of the game is changing somewhat.
Fletcher as a GM should realize that the playoffs are a long shot and even if they make it, they aren't likely to make a run. Focus on the future and what is best for that future.

I have no idea but I really, really like Darnell Nurse. I wish he was a Flyer. Schultz would have helped. |

I think it is in reference to the fact the board is basically empty when the Flyers are winning. Half the people here that were femal dogeing all season when they are losing disappear when things are positive. Giroux_is_god is one of them |

LOL remember the guy last night posting about how we would lose because we said LA game would be easy and now we were saying the same about Anaheim. Ducks right now are worse than we were to start the season. 2 wins in the last 20 is not a team you are likely to lose to. |

Some good, some bad to hang on to our playoff hopes today. Buffalo and Carolina both lose in regulation. Go Leafs tonight!! |
