Hakstol developed those players. There is a lag just like the Trump economy can thank Obama. - StepfordSam
I hope that was sarcasm, as a Macro Economic Planner, I can tell you Obama did more to wreck the economy than fix it. That’s not being partisan either. Let’s stick to hockey in this forum! Flyers win!!!!👍 |

Dubas coming in to Toronto...wasn’t half bad. - landros 2
Dubas actually took over the team in 2015 for awhile (along w/ Mark Hunter) before they brought Lou on, tho. So I'd say his tenure officially started then. Those were the pre-Matthews, pre-Marner days, when their organization was still a mess. |

Dubas coming in to Toronto...wasn’t half bad. Fear of Fletcher trading away all the young assets is TOTALLY unfounded. Just because ownership said he had a bias for action doesn’t turn Fletcher into Chirelle. He has done things to improve the Flyers....he fired the coach ...has traded away some players who weren’t producing...now called up two of the teams top prospects. Hired a coach who has changed some roles for players that appeared written in stone with the previous guy....and low and behold, they are playing better. - landros 2
Yea but Dubas walked in to a bad cap situation. Sure he is gonna have Marner and Matthews signed but a lot of moves are going to need to be made to put this team under the cap. They are at 71 mill with just 14 players and this is without Marner signed. With guys like Kapanen and Johnson as RFAs I could see the Leafs losing these guys. I cant see there being a huge interest in Marleau at 39 years old with a 6+ mill cap hit. Kadri will free up 4.5 mill but I am not sure that is enough. |

I’m going to sleep well tonight knowing that Simmonds is a goner. And he’s a goner after reading fletchers quote today. He should bring a decent return. My guess is the leafs. They talked about the need to bring more toughness in after the muzzin deal |

Well fletcher hasn’t done anything to upset the apple cart. Which is great. Pretty pleased so far That nothing much is getting done except prudent decisions on turning this roster over and expanding young players roles.
Feel good about the deadline too. If you read his quotes today you’ll know that Simmonds really has no shot of staying here past the deadline |

If there is a hockey trade available this summer for Jake I would still explore that if I’m fletcher. These cats used up all 9 lives. |

It’s not that I don’t believe you he’ll bent on keeping Simmonds. I asking because I’ve heard absolutely nothing. Radio silence. |

"Wayne has played hard and he's played very well of late. I can't commend him enough on his professionalism, on his attitude. You watch him in celebrations after games and he is pretty much the first guy out there to congratulate [goalies] Carter [Hart] or Anthony [Stolarz], as the case may be. He's just a great teammate and has done a lot for this franchise. We'll try to work on a conclusion that works best for everybody." |

I would be looking at that as well. I think it will be hard to find NHL ready value though. I would sacrifice some of Jake's offense for a more defensively responsible player but I'm just not sure that trade is there to be had. |

I don’t think I need to explain it. What would you take away from it. He literally said he’s trying to work to an ending with Simmonds. Not to mention the entire article he talked about Wayne in the past tense. |

Yeah that sounds like parting words to me. Interested to see what the return will be. Even moreso to see what that next contract will be. |

Yes because we need to 200 foot the other teams to death.
No issue with a player that brings offense at the expense of a defense if it's within reason. |
