Rainy season replaces -30 season. When it does get sunny, you can play golf or participate in other outdoor activities without concern of hypothermia. If you want snow, drive for an hour.
- golfingsince

You mean when it's not raining? The extra 40 inches of rain BC gets per season.

Sacrifice it for the rain?
- manvanfan

I would take 365 days of rain in Vancouver over 1 sunny day in Winnipeg if I had to choose.

Who wants to go swimming in a rain coat? or golf in a rain coat? Play any outdoor activity in a rain coat?

Canucks actually have a number of great shooters, Leivo is one of them. I can’t remember the Canucks having so many players who can really snap the puck.

He said he is not trading draft picks and I believe he wont.

This years draft has two Dmen ranked in the top in the top 15 picks . Byram and Broberg. Byram will probably go in the top 5 .

That leaves you with the hope of having Broberg available when your shot comes up at number 12. Then you hope that in three years he turns out to be a NHL player . You are basically drafting Fabbro three years later.

Another Swede whipping boy D-man

Fabbro may force Nashville's hand, there's no guarantee with him either.

What do you do outside in the rain?
- manvanfan

Walk, jog, cycle, rollerblade (Codes favourite) or skateboard.
Smoke a big joint and take your dog to the beach.
Hackey sack.

You realize that doesn't mean it rains all day right?

You often get huge downpours of rain for several days, then it clears up for awhile.

Lol, not that I want you or your halfling family moving west and screwing up the real estate market more than it is now, but we get less than 24” of rain per year. We also receive, on average, about 2200 hours of sunshine per year. On average, about 8 days fewer (300+ hours) than your neighbor Winnipeg.

Hughes skating and playmaking ability is already above what Stecher brought in his rookie year. I would expect much more than a Stecher clone.
- LordHumungous

I'm expecting him to blow people away with his skating and smarts. Stetcher is fine, but Hughes is a completely other level.

He's played college too, so not like he's been playing against only kids his age/size.

That's not as much fun as looking out your window at sunshine and -40 degrees and thinking, "Is this the day my family dies because the plumber can't fix the heater?"

Not many college players step into the NHL and blow the league apart . There needs to be a growing session in most cases

We have seen him play at the world cup . He stood his ground he didn't own those players. He will be fine.

So today's discussion is whether vancouver or Winnipeg is a better city to live in (during the winter.)

Well done boys: we've set a new benchmark.

I find it comical, and comforting, that flatlanders think it rains 24/7 on the coast. If it rains hard for a week out of a month, in Victoria, it's a lot. It sprinkles for a couple hours a day and then it's cloudy or sunny.

The only months I don't golf, usually, are January and February, and I don't golf in the rain. January and February are too cold.

I'm not saying he's going to blow it apart. I'm just saying comparing him to a Stetcher-like year is underselling what he's going to do.

I think he'll be in the conversation for the Calder. He'll have a similar impact to what Heiskanen is doing down in Dallas.

I work outside and I think I have only complained about 5 days of rain this winter. The mild rain who cares

I remember golfing during the Olympics and it was 15 degrees and sunny. Oh what to do in the winter?
