I'm thinking Kunitz will sit out the game against Boston so he can play his 1,000th game in front of the home crowd. - EbonyRaptor

If they make the playoffs, they need to get some stronger guys for the first round. I know Nash, WPG or Vegas would likely be a first round opp. Ferland is a guy that I think would be great for this team. He can keep the shenanigans at a minimum and still be a good third line contributor.
Sikura, 3rd Rd Pick for Ferland? - nickmo2699
Ferland would be a good pickup now and for the future. Think the hawks would be better served by adding two very solid forwards instead of one top tier talent like stone or Panarin. Save the money to use on the backend. Think the Ferland move makes sense because he would be a good long-term fit and if the hawks don’t get him now, they will probably never get him. Wouldn’t mind a bit of an overpay to lock him into future years.

Really hope they keep him shut down the rest of the year. One of the big issues I hear about concussions is that once you start getting them, they are easier to get again. Didn’t the pens shut Crosby down for a whole year after his second concussion because it had come too soon after the first and on a hit that looked rather innocuous? |

Big 4 point jump for the Blackhawk’s playoff probability, now up to a solid 20%
If you were wondering, 6% to reach round 2, 2% to make the WC Final, 1% to make the Cup finals & 0.2% to win the whole damn thing!
So yes, there is a chance! Thanks Athletic! |

Same. Forsling for Kapanen would be nice then pair Jok/Keith for the stretch with Kookoo Puffs as the 7th d-man. - Assman22
Leafs probably keep Kap before going into cap hell. Last shot. |

Well, since the hawks have made some recent trades picking up people that haven’t worked out for their original teams, think they should target that McDavid guy in Edmonton; that team hasn’t accomplished anything with him. Think Gus plus 50 percent retained for McD with Edmonton retaining 50 percent also would be a good trade. If nothing else, Gus will help their PP. McD would make a nice 3c here and could slot upwards occasionally. - Spec41971

If you offer just Forsling for Kapanen, Toronto is going to look elsewhere.

Crawford on whether he felt he needed to decide whether to come back: "Not at all. I was gonna come back as soon as I felt 100 percent. I'm not worried about that. I feel good, I feel ready & we're just gonna work on making my way back to the lineup."
Crawford on how concerned/scared he was this time: "Not really. It's possible to come back you just have to do the right things. That's what the training staff & doctors were doing. You just have to be smart, not push it too fast."
Crawford on this recent concussion vs. last one: "I had a few similar symptoms but it was obviously quicker & nice not to have to wait that long. You just try to stay patient & confident it won't last that long." |

Great. Sounds like he will have qualities to become good at NHL level. But still have to wonder to what extent getting stronger and physical play has upon his game. I mean, you get pounded enough and you start compensating. So it is critical that he become stronger maybe thicker if his body can be that way. But also there must be some large tough partners in the pairings who can stand up to and rush out hits to large opposing forwards.
I know the game is trending toward fast speed quick reactions and at speed but you cannot have a defense of only fast skill who want to avoid any physicality. Jokiharju ia real young as are the other skill dmen prosoects and thet aren"t turning into buff magazine cover behomeths with just one summer of dedicated workouts. |

They might tell you to not call again if you aren't serious. Not too often a Sam Pollock RIP off occurs - occasionally although Chiarelli inflates the rate. |

It would take a lot more than Forsling to get Kapanen. The asking price would probably start with the Hawks 1st round pick and then add from there. And actually I would be OK with trading the 1st round pick for Kapanen providing the Hawks pick isn't in the top-5. - EbonyRaptor
Can't see if being a first considering if you sign him for 4M or less it would only cost a 2nd to sign him to a deal and the Leafs would likely have no chance to retain him. If they want a player to help them win now I could see, depending on the player, something like a 3rd and a player for him. Leafs won't have a position of leverage in a Kap deal without them having a major issue on their hands

For anyone interested in Ferland, reports are that he's looking for a deal in the 5-6M AAV in a deal which is why the Canes have looked at trading him |

Remind me who won that game?
Shots are not necessarily an indication of overall play. I only caught a portion of the game, but a lot of Leafs shots came from the perimeter. They had 23 PP shots on 4 PP's. Nice game for a goalie who has a .903 save percentage and a GAA over 3. - TheTrob
The goalie played outstanding

Hmm gonna be interesting to see if the Hawks continue to play well the rest of the year if Crow would be brought back to help. Then what do you do with your goalies? Ward and Delia has been playing very well during this recent stretch. Hard to see Ward getting traded or Delia sent down. Do the Hawks really carry 3 goalies and rotate them in case Crow has any set backs? Idk. This is gonna be EXTREMELY interesting to follow.

I could see them holding Crow out for at least another couple weeks to make sure these symptoms don't reoccur. |

Talk of not worrying about drafting high this year because Strome panned out is like the worst spin ever.
Strome fixed the Schmaltz problem, so they are only now net positive in the 2C role.
Sorry - they shouldn't tinkle away a chance to add even more talent at ELC pricing for a vain struggle to get their heads handed to them in the first round of the playoffs.
Streak ends with Boston game.

Caggiula is a train wreck in his own end. Those hits are always leaving him out of position. He was with mcdavid for most of the year and didnt mount to much. Hes lucky he now has toews and kane to deflect. - oil90
Nice troll. Caggiula has been outstanding since getting here. He has been playing PK a lot too. For a guy who is a "train wreck in his own zone", his play on the PK has been quite the revelation. He brings energy and grit to a team that otherwise lacks it. Hawks fans couldn't be happier that we got a player who can skate an actual NHL shift for a plug. Go away and focus on your joke of a team, where the only thing missing is a laugh track. |
