I love that I get attacked for saying Botts should do something, that he is doing nothing to help this team and yet here is a writer saying Botts is too patience. Love it!

You don't get ridiculed for suggesting Botts should do something.

Smith-Larsson-Erod is a fine 4th line, if Housley would commit to playing them like a 4th line - jcragcrumple
It would be.
However, the reality is Okposo is here and 99.9% likely to stay for another season or two...the only line he can play on anymore on is the 4th...therefore Erod or Larry have to go somewhere else...maybe Erod to 3rd |

That's a lot to pay for a guy who is 34 years old. You may be right, but I wouldn't do it.

a trade for a re-signed Trouba would be far less than 4 firsts IMO - Der Kaiser
Sure.
However, IMO they aren't trading him and weakening their chances st a SC run ... so that was the basis of my "only way". |

Now I see your point. They're cap challenged next year but they have a lot of contracts to renegotiate in this off season.

If the team ends up with 87 points, they'll have had a 25 point improvement from last year, and yet Phil did a bad job? - kingcong39
How many points would the best defenseman possibly ever drafted add to any coaches point total?
Add a 30 goal guy like skins
Jack has been relatively healthy all season
Replacing the goaltending
That's probably 25-30 points right there |

I can't stand to listen to him. His voice bugs me almost as much as the crap that comes out of his mouth.
I'm tiring of him quickly. |

Interesting game tonignt.
NYI players have bought into Trotz's system and limit dangerous shots teams to take lower percentage shots ... which helps their goalies significantly.
Sabres should be so committed to their D-zone play as we have seen them tighten down over the past 2 games..unfortunately it tends to come at the expense of goal production due to their lesser talent at being able to have a strong transition game.
Botts needs to find a couple of solid 2-way players to elevate this teams play in that regard.
I continue to believe Stone should be their #1 target if he gets to UFA status. Dzingle would be another solid acquisition.
They would cost alot, but the team has some expensive contracts coming off the books over. Ext 2 years.
Find a way Botts, do your Cap magic.
