Mitts is a game time decision, got banged up in practice

Smith would be in for him if he can't go

I'm not one for a coaching carousel, as I think it sets you back a bit, but this guy might have to go.

Phil Housley says he notices more confidence in Robin Lehner. Coach also adds this more telling statement for Lehner's success with Islanders compared to Sabres: "I think it's just the structure."

- Stripes77

Am I wrong or did Phil just say Robin's better because he's playing for a better coach?

just put a boxing ring in the middle of the ice 3 rounds of rockem sockem between Phail and Trotz. I think that's our best bet.
- Sabre_Tooth

Better chance fighting Trotz then out coaching him.

I put $100 on trotz all day every day in the ring

HOLY (frank) YOU MEAN LIKE PLAYING DEFENSE HELPS A GOALIE???

These are rhetorical questions only:

Is Lehner, now that he is out of Buffalo, not depressed, clinically ill, addicted to booze and pills? Did his anxiety and mental illness get cured? If so, I am truly happy for him.

It just sucks that we paid him to be on our team while in that condition, he played like garbage and our team was worse for it, we let him go, and now he is elite. If he was as bad as all that, he should've went to the club and said, "JB I am not well. I need some time to get better"...just the same as Okposo should have done, in my opinion.

I am at work and only post on lunch, so I wont get to see the beating I take on this board for my post until much later, but it is how I see it.

It seems very clear to me that this roster continues the fine Sabres tradition of players playing however they want on the ice, largely the cheating in their own zone to better enable their offensive game... defying a couple of Coaches and their systems.
When they do commit to playing with structure it is very, very evident. Both under Bylsma and now under Housley. Over the years we have heard
-Dancin Disco Dan lament about it,
-Phil preach it,
-Reporters talk about it, and how both Coaches have reached levels of frustration...they practice t, but then fail to execute during gamez
-rumors of locker room divide between those committed and those not
-players comment about "playing right".

Honestly, somehow the "cheaters", uncommitted need to get the message loud and clear.
The evidence for success from commitment is going to be on the ice as their opponent tonight.

You could interpret it that way I suppose.
I think you would be closer to the truth if you were to point to the players seeming refusal to fully commit to playing the system.

Really dude?

No beating, but come on. No one does this at any job, let alone one with millions of dollars on the line.

STILL WRONG, Beady.

"March 29, 2018 was the day my life would change forever. It all started the night before. I made a phone call to my goalie coach with the Sabres, Andrew Allen. I told him that I was personally in a bad place and was not sure that I would be able to play in the game we had the next day. I was having trouble making up my mind if I could suit up. I was mentally and physically battling a lot of things. "
