I thought it was pretty simply put...
Huberdeau isn’t as good as Hall
Do u disagree? |

Okposo and a 1st for Kovy and a 2nd
Short term pain, long term gain - jcragcrumple
Maybe
But we’d all hate Sobotka & Kovy on line3 too |
|
|
|
Right, bc he was mostly in the 3C role
Same way Girgs/Larsson brought very little to the table in previous years when they were being played in the top9 - jdfitz77
we can define
Girgensons play--hard on the forecheck, strong on the puck, plays well defensively, does the dirty work, falls down a lot
Larrson--strong on the dot, does the dirty work, agitates, somewhat crafty, has a great nickname here
define Sobotka:

So fill one hole and open up a huge one on defense. Il pass unless I have an immediate replacement/ upgrade over Risto - MCGUIZZY
Even a talent below Risto would be a net benefit for Buffalo. JH is a very, very good player.
You put him with CM, watch greatness. |

Come on dude. This point is absolutely ridiculous.
"well, he's no Hall, so let's not bother"
That's a horrendous take.
FWIW yes, Hall is better, to answer the question. |

Boring penalty killer.
Larsson had a great hit yesterday. Neither Sobotka nor Girgs are really hitters. Girgs sort off flings his body at pucks, but it is not, strictly speaking, hitting. Sobotka doesn't hit at all. Larsson has risen above Girgs and Sobotka imo, and while I am no huge fan of any of them, I would keep Larsson over the other 2, especially Sobotka. |

I know Parayko was a popular name out there, but STL isn't a seller anymore. If he moves in the off-season, it's going to cost a roster player ++ - Lunaion

Good faceoff guy
Doesn’t make big mistakes (usually)
Penalty killer
Decent in def zone
Decent forcheck
Dependably “meh”
I’m not saying i like the guy
I’m EASILY the one on these boards who has hated on him since the trade
BUT
Guys look better when they’re played in the correct role
He’d be a fine 4th liner
He’s a HORRIBLE top9 center |

Im not the ONLY ONE to have just said that,
but thanks for coming at just me
Also...
i did point out how Hubes is a “playmaker” and that’s not really what we need
Eichel & Mitts & Sam are all the same type
Our only “scorer” is Skinner
Hall is brought up bc of the flubbed non trade
And also...
it would be better to acquire a Hall-like player that’s more of a goal scorer than Huberdeau |

I came at Rhino first.
He had 27 goals last season.
The Sabres don't need to turn their noses up to good players, ESPECIALLY at the cost of the (fantasy trade) Ristolainen. |

Only time he’s had over 20
He is MUCH more of a playmaker
Just bc he’s good, doesn’t automatically mean he’s a good fit |

I guess I'm just in tough guy crazy land where acquiring great players for peanuts is frowned upon cause we only need elite goal scorers.
I feel like I'm eating crazy pills. |
