Nylander + Dougherty/Borgen
for
Josh Manson (or Montour if they’d move him)

*not a rumor
Just throwing it out there

Going forward...

let's back that truck up a bit, he's a good player, but he's basically Reinhart. Except Reinhart is ahead of him time-wise. Huberdeau scores less than half his EV points away from Barkov, while playing more than half his time away from him, and none of his PPP. His line is a humongous beeg defensive liability though, as a team the Panthers are -19, Huberdeau, Barkov and Hoffman are -62 combined. Huberdeau is -23 all by himself. The Sabres are -11 as a team and Eichel, Skinner and Reinhart are +17 by comparison.
- Wetbandit1

eichel was a -25 last year

+/- is over rated, esp when looking at bad team

Huberdeau has also been playing mostly wing for a while now

Are we better if we trade Risto for Hubes
and then Sam for a RH defenseman?

probably, but he'd still cost a lot....same reasons as risto
- Lunaion

Except Parayko doesn't score points like Risto. Risto has twice as many EV points: 24 to 12.

I know, that's why I'm looking at within the team, and comparing it to the team's overall +/-. Florida's worst 4 forwards +/- are also their top scoring 4 forwards/top line. Buffalo's worst forwards +/- are Sobotka, Thompson and Okposo, they are most definitely not the top line.

Risto is 16th overall in defenseman scoring currently.

Impressive.

6th overall in average ice time

More impressive

Right, but they both have size, hit, are younger, shoot right....qualities that often over-rated. Risto has more, which is why I'd always be listening to offers on him.

We won’t. He’s going to re-sign. I’d bet $$.

There’s no way this franchise lets him walk

Right like we have never let players like that go for nothing in the past. (Brier and Drury)

Oh stop it, we had a Risto-Hall trade on paper once.

You must allow me a few nonsense references from time to time.

What if Stone and Duchene goes to Ottawa and tells them they're not going to re-sign there.

Would Ottawa take a Scandella or better yet Okposo contract if a 1st and a good prospect would be going there way?

For Stone that is

Not with Melnyk. The most penny wise, pound foolish owner in the NHL.

How much can the Sabres pay of okposo 's contract?

50%? How many years?

The Okposo contract isn't front loaded, which sucks for us. That probably would have appealed to Melnyk to help them to hit the floor without paying him real money. I think most every team takes Okposo for a 1st. But Okposo has a MNTC

Thanks, GMTM. Your services will be missed

Oh, just for taking Okposo? I was assuming one of Stone or Duchene would be coming back.

For both:
Duchene, Stone

For,

Buf 1st 2019, STL 1st 19, STL 2nd 2021 Sheary, Nylander, Okposo

A lot to give up and one hell of Murray deal.

PSA: Im wouldnt do this but what it would probably cost with dumping okposo

For salary would have to go the other way to afford those two

I was saying:

Stone for Okposo (0 retained) A 1st and Nylander/Guhle

However if Okposo's contract was front loaded it would look better for Melnyk

Stone and Duchene are most likely both 1sts (Boyle set the market as a 2nd)

Okposo is a 1st to take the contract.

So 3 firsts + Sheary and Nylander

Will we be “great” though?

We wanna be PIT or CHI, not SJ
Lots of work to be done still

Don’t win a game for the rest of the year and that will definitely help.

What's the point of this? Stone would be the top rental and command a big price. There's no logical way to get him and dump Okposo at the same time.

adding another expensive UFA in Duchene....i know it's a slow day, but it's just 3 levels of crazy
