I can't help but wonder how Jim Benning put himself in a position that the Canucks have no goaltending in the AHL they could call up? Putting DiPietro out there like this just isn't fair to the kid.

I'm sure he's over the moon excited but that doesn't make it right. Last week he's playing against 16-17 year olds and this week he facing one of the best teams in the NHL.....not right!

The Russian maybe as well perhaps? We had 4 solid goalies in to star the season and have acquired two more, hard to give Benning a hard time on that one.

Ya, Bachman and Demko injured. Then that guy they got from OTT was claimed. I think PHI has to waive a goalie soon so I expect Benning will make a claim

Team hasn't played well and there's been some bad luck.

But he's also every bit a CHLer out there. Dude's got raw athleticism but you can see issues with his technique. If I can see that at home I bet that pro shooters can see those issues too.

There's a couple goals that I feel like either someone 6'2" or a pro level goalie would have had. Would only make the score 4-1 or whatever but still.

Kid's got a ways to go. He can't afford technical errors when he doesn't also have freakish size to just get hit with pucks. He's dropping his shoulders a lot on his movements, its bringing his hands down and he's losing balance laterally.
