I don't think Mikey's feelings were hurt, it was just another easy reason to throw darts at Benning for being stupid. - LeftCoaster
Fabulous

Any excuse to blame canucks management. You haters have hit an all time low. Pathetic (frank)ing fans. #Canucks
Someone should invite this guy to HB, would be a riot in here. |

So if we lose to the Ducks I’d say the tank is fully on. |

Mikey handled the press really well after the game. He's such a positive kid that I don't think this will do any long term damage. He looked more comfortable as the game went on. Still, it's pretty crazy that Benning let the situation get to this point. McKenna was claimed off waivers 5 weeks ago and we only have 46 NHL contracts currently. - nucks_94
It won't affect him at all, it was a huge life moment for him. |

He’s not wrong. We got rocked by a top5 team. Big (frank)ing deal, still played well all year. Biggest concern should be hanging the kid out to dry a bit, but whatever it’s one game. Henny penny today |

He’s going to go back to Ottawa(?) in a week or whatever with a new set of pads and some serious bragging rights (even getting shelled), and a nice pay chèque to boot. He will finish out the CHL season, hopefully be in the Memorial Cup and come to camp next year a little wiser.

At this point, as weird as it is to say, I hope he gets one of the Wednesday or Thursday games. Playing Anaheim or LA would give him a chance to leave this call-up with a better taste in his mouth than a game against San Jose. |

I hope he plays both, wins them both, and gets himself in the Calder conversation
How long can he stay before they burn a year of his ELC? |

If, as expected, McKenna goes on waivers today, and the Canucks claim him, do you go with Mikey anyway? Provided Marky is still unable to play. |

I say play MD as much as you can until season's end. Good way to build character while positioning your team for a great draft pick. Win win. |

The Flyers just assigned Elliott to Leigh Valley for a conditioning assignment but they did it in such a way that he remains on LTIR. |

McKenna’s been on a conditioning assignment, so he goes back to Philly?
Ah, i see, even with him they are only at 23 players |

Just read on Twitter that Gaudette will be called up today, at some point. |

Shows the players they will have to fight to win games. Wont quit on a 20 year old. Right? |

I saw that too. Thats no fun though. Utica is being dismantled again for the purpose of Vans tank. |

Has he been called up yet? I saw something on Twitter about how he missed some sort of public appearance in Utica last night and then an hour later the Sutter on IR news broke. |

Utica's trash this year anyway.
The only "real" downside to a Gaudette recall is that it (frank)s a couple wingers back to playing with some ECHLers |

26-19-4 with a ECHL goalie and multiple call ups from VAN this year. They are middle of the pack for AHL, hardly "trash" |

Meh, move Gaunce to C and get more ice on the wing for the rookies.
Remember the glory days about how good the Comets would be this year! |

I agree, it can't hurt to let him play a game where the team actually has a chance of winning.
There's so much snivelling and whining going on meanwhile I fail to see how DiPietro getting to play a game or 2 for us is a bad thing. It's almost like all these people criticizing management had us penciled into a playoff spot |
|

I think the last thing this team should be worried about right now is management. Coaching needs to address first periods. This team always come out of the gate like $hit and play catch up. That's on the players imo.
Wake up players. You hung a junior goalie out to dry and the game was over in the first ten minutes of the game. They should have a look in the mirror today. You can't play a run and gun style of hockey with Dipietro in net. Close up defensively and give yourself a chance. |
