Stinks that I think both of those got traded too. I think the one for Garrison turned into Vey and the Bieksa one as part of the Sutter deal.

All true, Leivo I really like, skatings not the best but he protects the puck well and he's got a decent shot.

Like it or not, they seem to values value what Gud brings to the room more than on the ice.

The real problem is the lack of drafted and developed D since Jimbo took over. Add the old regime to that as well.

Gud will be gone by the time this team is really competing. just have to deal with it for the time being.

Motte was an underwhelming return, I think expectations were higher. He's a serviceable 4th liner though, I think you could find that pretty much anywhere in the AHL.

All true and I forgot about Bearschi somehow, it's the clear winner IMO.

Perhaps I should of said best acquisition via trade, both those picks were thrown away for more garbage I think.

I'm not sold on him either. His lack of foot speed is apparent. He doesn't have great giddy up.

I also don't really dig him as a LW. For a player who has apparently primarily played his off wing, he doesn't seem comfortable making a lot of plays on his backhand. On RW I think he's better. Issue is, that with the current state of the LW that having him as your #2 RW isn't good enough.

I'll give you the second ones, but Biega as the 7th D is fine. He's a good pro, knows his role, plays well for a game or two. That's all you really need.

But I agree, could use this time to look at the young kids

He's been poor recently but he's been fine for the most part. Bennings probably has a list of 8 D as bad hes acquired for assets, Beiga cost nothing, barely even capspace.

3 goals were fluke dumb goals. The other 3 were defensive lapses and turnovers that end with nice goals. We have been pushing but too little to late.

I can't help but wonder how Jim Benning put himself in a position that the Canucks have no goaltending in the AHL they could call up? Putting DiPietro out there like this just isn't fair to the kid.

I'm sure he's over the moon excited but that doesn't make it right. Last week he's playing against 16-17-18 year olds and this week he facing one of the best teams in the NHL.....not right!
