Looks like the Hawks just re-upped Delia to a 3 year $1,000,000 per contract.... That there could turn out to be a steal, especially if Delia takes over the reins as #1 next season (and I think he will) I wouldn't be shocked to see him start the rest of this season for sure. Obviously he's going to have to earn the starting role at camp but I think the Hawks will give him every opportunity to do so given how hes played this season at both the NHL and AHL level..
This kinda reminds me of Ed Belfour and how he came up and stole the show all in a short window, similar circumstances, similar success and both were (are in Delia's case) very impressive.. That, and both showed flashes of brilliance - that they have what it takes to be a legitimate #1
Now we just need to get this guy a decent defense to play in front of him. His AHL numbers are fantastic, and he's shown he can stop pucks when he's not hung out to dry.. His save percentage is .913 with crap playing in front of him and that's pretty impressive within itself, his AHL numbers (when he had a decent D playing in front of him) is a mind boggling .933 this season in 17 games..
I really like this signing, it's zero risk and nothing but reward.
Wonder if the Hawks will bring Ward back for another season to backup Delia or be there just in case (I don't think it will happen) the Delia experiment doesn't work? I mean I'm pretty certain that Crawford's career is over, I'm sure he will try a comeback but if he succeeds I think it will be brief..... With that said it's always good to have a plan B, even in case of injury.. I'm sure there will be better goalies on the market this summer and the Hawks have $$$$$ to spend for the first time in a decade.. But you don't want to have a situation where you're carrying 3 goalies so some decisions will have to be made for sure.. The smart thing to do would be to put Crow on the LTR next season and move forward, cross your fingers and hope Delia is the real deal and not just a flash in the pan alas Andrew Hammond was for Ottawa a few years back...
I'm glad he's got himself a nice 3 year deal, he's earned it and hopefully he will have a breakout year next season.... People can laugh all they like but I see a lot of similarities between Ed Belfour and Delia from their flashes of brilliance to how they got to the show.... I mean both pretty much came out of nowhere with no expectations other than to be a warm body but turned out to be much more than that when they were given the opportunity..
Good deal... |

I really like delia and have so since we first saw him last year. Got the stuff of top goalies in this league: ice in his veins, calm, resilient and has all the tools. The experience he is getting at the NHL level this season is huge. I think he needs to get technically better with his positioning and his angles. This is crow's strong point.
I doubt ward is back. And craw being done is news to craw and the hawks. He has practiced with the team and says he feels real good. He could be back in the net iwithin the the next 10-14 days.

Wow.
I remember - not so long ago - when I was strongly condemned by several here - including, as I recall, Mr. S2S - for posting political views on this forum.
True, they were from the progressive / liberal viewpoint....
I guess it’s OK to post nationalist pro-Trump commentary - just not any opposing viewpoint.
Lots of hypocrisy around, I think. - StLBravesFan

Phuck dis politics talk... We be talking playoffs... Wait that was last week.. Lol - BGKarras
Playoff talk was Tuesday, up until about 10 minutes gone in the first period. Today’s and Thursday’s topic ( at least until game time) is tank. Friday’s topic — playoffs or tank - will be determined by Thursday’s game. And then the cycle repeats on Saturday.

no i dont want this team to make the playoffs not with this defense; i would luv to see some improvement defensively and then if they make the playoffs great...
5v5 has improved
pp has improved
their defensive metrics are bottom of the league; very little improvement over the course of the season so far |

Ha ha. This has been one Hell of a season to discuss, lots of fun. I think our hearts want us to make the playoffs for that long shot but our minds know that a high pick is better for us. - Popsghostly
Depends on whether you just want to watch your team squeak into the playoffs every year and get ousted in round one or to play for the championship. I say go for the championship and take a few years of mediocrity to get there. |

The pro-trump post was filled with hypocritical circular thinking. Funny that the ones who call people out for non-critical thinking are incapable of it themselves. Guess that’s why it is so easy for them to get sucked into a cult.

From a 4th period article suggesting the PREDS have made Tolvanen available.
LOL one of these things is not like the other....
The Predators have expressed interest in the likes of Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Artemi Panarin, Ottawa Senators stars Mark Stone and Matt Duchene, and New York Rangers forward Kevin Hayes, among others. - mrpaulish
We should expect the Preds to be pushing hard to win and hang another participation banner next opening night. |

Anyone watching Edm-Pit? Although I don't want Edm to win, it is very frustrating watching Pit. Crosby slashes Larson's stick and breaks it, yet he draws a penalty when Larson checked him. I wish Kane would get that kind of treatment. - powerenforcer
Crosby gets treated like a god by the refs and the league. I can’t think of another player that gets as many passes as he does.

Roger that. I actually don’t mind the off-topic posts....often find something interesting or even filling in knowledge gaps in my old brain. If I see a thread i am not interested in or find a waste of my time, I just ignore it and move on. We all have different tastes and hot button triggers...I accept that mine aren’t any better or more important than anyone else’s on this board |

I actually sat in a meeting at work many years ago when the discussion — among people capable of making the decision — was to not fire someone because they were the perfect example of a bad example and could therefore be use to exemplify what the employees shouldn’t be doing. It was the most perfect Dilbert moment of my life.

The league will want Edmonton to draft #1 so there can be Hughes brother rivalry between the Oilers and Canucks. |
