We're not giving you Williams for AA.
We're in a goddamn playoff race and he's the Captain. - BINGO!
That's what I said. AA for a free raid at the broken stick bin! #e5 |

Chill out. It was a suggestion. I doubt he even knew Williams was the captain and that's why he suggested it

Question on Faulk: Has his game fallen off, or is this so they can loosen up the log jam of D prospects they have in the fold? - nickmo2699
Both. Adam Fox won't sign unless he can play in the NHL right away.
Biggest thing is opening up space on the RHD side and acquiring a top 6 forward.
Not interested in taking any defensemen back. |

I wasn't meaning to be rude. But, I mean, Williams is more productive than AA too, so... |

I would like TVR back. Guy aint flashy, but he plays a solid stay at home game. Hawks could use some consistent/simple on D.

We have a logjam of #5,6,7 defenseman also, why would we want another one at $2.3mil?

I hear ya. This proposal was about Faulk though, who is a lot of things but is certainly a top 4 defenseman. |

Only problem I see is the fact that the Hawks seem to have a bit of a logjam of RHD ourselves and could use a LHD who plays solid D. Can Faulk play his offside? Brett Pesce seems to fit the mold more of what we need on this team, but again another RHD.
Honestly, knowing Bowman I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like AA and Forsling for TVR and a prospect +.
BONUS: AA, Forsling, and Forsberg for TVR, Darling (50% retained), and two prospects OR a prospect and a pick

I think so, yeah. He's not suspended, so he should still be being paid. |

It doesn't cost them anything to sign Perlini to a deal that can be buried in Rockford, aside from a contract slot. If he's playing hurt, as some on here contend is the case, we should see what he's like at 100% before placing him on waivers. He was the scratch off ticket included in the Schmaltz/Strome deal, that's how I look at it. - 333inthe3rd
Only one person contends he is playing hurt. At this point, he isn't worth a contract slot. He is a lazy player. |

Lmao I knew one of them had to be playing their offside with like 5 RHD on the roster already
I could see something around Pesce for AA. Makes sense for both sides. Pesce is a bit more of a Defensive D-Man (from what I've read, you might know more) and would fit what we are looking for. AA adds more Top 9 Forward depth for your Playoff push. Both are signed for about the same amount of money (AA for about 500k more). Could even see something expanded to maybe include Forsling to balance out the backend for you guys and we receive a forward prospect in return (perhaps some of the Center depth where we need more depth like Roy).
Then still leaves the possibly of trading Faulk at some point for a Top 6 Forward and open up roster spots for both Fox and Bean. Just throwing pasta against the wall to see what sticks

Toss in Bickell and maybe you have something there...What is people's fascination with picking up former Blackhawks? With the exception of possibly Versteeg, none of the retreads have made a positive impact whatsoever. TVR is just a guy and is overpaid for a bottom pair defenseman and redundant for a team loaded with 6-7-8s. Darling has literally been the worst goalie in the NHL since he was traded from Chicago. A bid no thanks to either.
Edited to add (not aimed at you), but there was a reason all these guys are now former Blackhawks. |

Pesce's unlikely to go anywhere, I think.
When it comes to the guys most likely to be traded it goes:
TVR
Faulk
Hamilton
Pesce |

I had no idea so many people weren't big fans of JJ. I think they both bring different positives to the group. I do feel JJ has more sources and rumor updates while JL just reports what he hears from JJ.
That's not a knock JL, you have done a fantastic job with your insights and team outlook! - nickmo2699
No knock taken, Nickmo.
I review and chat to a lot of people (JJ included) regarding rumours and happenings.
After working in the sports industry in Toronto for so long, I do have some of contacts myself.
I check in from time to time but don't focus my writing around it, rather would prefer to spark conversations amongst you great people.

Well supposedly Stan is looking to only do deals that he considers helping the Hawks, TVR doesn't do that, even with dumping Anisimov's salary - LAHawk

Who do you think Stan can make a trade with using Forsling and perlini as a change of scereny trade similar to Koekkoek and drake trades - Abadseed
Greetings Hawks fans. New guy here (but I've been reading for several years)...
I've been thinking a lot about the off-season and what SB might be able to do to improve this roster. I think using Hayden, Forsling, and even Gus as trade chips makes much more sense then as opposed to now. Looking at both Tampa Bay and Toronto- both are tight up against the cap and will need low-cost players to fill out their rosters.
I'm hoping Stan can pry Andreas Johnsson or (less likely) Kapanen from the Leafs, or maybe JT Miller from the Bolts in exchange for some picks, low-cost players, and/or taking on expensive contracts (Callahan?). Thoughts? |
