Loving the Drake...such a good move by Stan. I keep saying it but it keeps being true. The Hawks needed more guys to go to the front of the net, now they have Toews, Anisimov, Strome and the Drake.

Really is no contest at least judging from last few games each has played.

Koekkoeck gets noticed by Colliton with the nice assist on the Captain's goal. In third period he knkcks down a player. This just emphasizes that he is willing to play physical brand and we sure can use this.

You know that Forsling had some rough outings lately. Is it possible with another year as a pro that Forsling turns the cirner?

Yes......but scenario is likely it could be several years before that occurs. He has to become better in addressing the physical body contact and we do not know if he wants to overcome this obstacle. Forsling has a good shot and can make quick decisions and plays at speed. That would stand out in games but it is not going to really truly surface as long as his defensive effort and most likely low TOI continues

Ward played very well again tonight ,he should be the starter going forward until he falters ,or Crow is ready . Really like Koekkoek game he should also be starting . Lets get serious about the playoffs ,anything can happen if you make it to the dance .

No team is all too interested in Forsling. If he shows better then maybe. Teams want what he.does well and would envision him as a third pair. But a lot of teams have dmen who are inconsistent and or yoing and developing. Forsling is not anything special. No market for him currently. Some team woukd take him as practicaly a give away......sure.....but not much interest otherwise. Forsling needs to play regularly AHL and gain strength

I don't think Mitchell will sign that quickly. I kinda hope he doesn't sign until after this season for the Hawks. No need to waste a year of his ELC for one game. I am not sure if the Hawks can sign Mitchell to the standard 3 year ELC because of his class year. I think they can IIRC.

Hillman was a senior. Mitchell is a sophomore.

Would like to see how many people on this board would be voluntarily cutting their own raises so someone else in their company could get more. Think the number is you g to be around the number of cups the press won in the last ten years.

Totally agree that the careers are short -- with the potential to end every time they step on the ice. I could also ask the question how many hawks -- propagation any other team for that matter -- could earn a bigger pay check by better focus on the game and more commitment to i.proving themselves..

Patrick Kane has some pretty sick moves. I will admit he was born with talent, but I believe it was personal desire and work r box ceNtralized him to the level he performs at. I say he's earned his compensation..

This isn't the point. The point is that for a team to be successful, they cannot have two players earning 25% of the cap. If the players want to keep winning, they take less. If they don't, then the team needs to choose to keep one and then trade the other. Stan's failure was not taking this stand.

The difference between $10.5 million per year and $9 million per year is virtually indistinguishable. Sports are not real life, it's silly to compare them.
