Nah.
Also LOL at Buffalo in that 2012 draft.
Could have had two of Teravainen, Hertl or Vasilevsky and instead got Girgensons and Grigorenko. - BINGO!

Geno really needs to keep him mouth shut. He's digging himself a hole for the next time he (frank)s up. |

Ha. I just saw the twitter stuff. Didn't read this.
I think the part he keeps missing is that no matter what you don't swing your stick like a lunatic. |

Right? I think that's part of what some people keep missing. Just because you missed it doesn't mean what you did was okay. |

I had a bad feeling about this outdoor game before he went Frank Thomas on Raffl, now I'm fairly certain there will be a new resident on the LTIR after Saturday... |
|

I will say that in reading his comments (not that he didn't do anything wrong) but as I had said previously I sympathize with him a little in that the league does an awful job ref'ing during these Pens/Flyers games, and whenever one team is losing substantially the cheap shots start and continue to escalate until it's WAY out of hand. Reading that Malkin was out for that IR stay prior to the Flyers game for a neck injury and then being hit there I can understand him being irate (again not saying he should swing his stick).
I wish he would've just cross-checked him to holy hell to get the point across but what's done is done. |

He didn't aim for his head, that's a point being missed in all of this. He wasn't even looking at Raffl when he swung it. He, or anyone, should never ever swing a stick in frustration like that and he should be punished...but if that hits Raffl on the body anywhere below the neck then it's its barely felt.. Like brushing off a summer fly. |

These are very contradicting statements.
If he wasn't looking how was he aiming at all. He was reckless and very lucky to only get one game. |

Doesn't matter. Gotta be in control of your stick.
Can't judge intent, and certainly shouldn't punish based on the result, so you have to punish based on the act and what COULD have happened. |

I totally agree that every man is responsible for their stick and it should of been punished. |

Technical Feds, ya got me there.
He wasn't really aiming at all but just wanted to give a you're being a pr!ck tap with his stick. Wreckless and irresponsible. Punishable. |

I agree with you on this, my man. No excuse for the stick swing. Its one of the most dangerous and reckless things you can do in a game. But this is definitely a symptom of the "let the boys play and police themselves" policy the NHL loves. Dude felt like he was being targeted at an injured area and lost his poop. Raffl knew he could get away with that roughing whether or not he was actually targeting Malkin's injured area. Maybe if refs made it clear you can't (frank) with people's head/neck area and get away with it, this doesn't happen. |

Malkin deserved a suspension, his stick swinging incident was reckless and dangerous. That being said, his comments on the flyers always starting stuff was really funny. |

Malkins being a hockey player. I know a lot of you feel that since you’re so sensitive to violence and anger that the players that play in the nhl are too. They simply aren’t. I like every word Geno said. It’s the truth. If a Flyer comes at him for it on national television I would love to see him throat punch him. |

A punch would be far better than a stupid stick swing up high. I don't think you'll get any arguments on that unless they go the 'he could break his hand like ZAR did' route. |
