Lines next year;
Top 6
Strome, Toews, Kane, Panarin, ADB ... ?
Next 6
No depth
Defense
With the exception of an aging Keith and maybe Murphy the rest are AHL calibre
Goalie
Delia and ?
Trading for or signing Panarin would be sure way to ensure the same fans calling on Bowman to acquire him will be calling for Bowman 's head next season when it becomes apparent 5 good players won't even get the team into the playoffs, let alone make them a contender. - paulr
Contending? Isn't it all about what would make Kaner happy - thats what's so important. He is only now getting over losing his frat boy buddy Schmaltz. |

on Feb 1 the hawks were 15th in the conf 4 pts ahead of the kings and 5 pts out of playoff spot with 6 teams to jump; less than 5% chance of getting a wild card...
so in 2 weeks they have won 7 of 8; 14 of a possible 16 pts and passed 3 teams and are now 3 pts out of the playoffs...with about a 20% chance of a playoff birth
quite impressive but they will have to continue winning and other teams continue to be .500 or worse
this winning streak netted them a gain of 2 pts in the standings from 5 out to 3 out... |

I’d rather Karlssen than Panarin
Kane’s having a dam nice season without him

Rick might break something when it happens, but Arty Breadman is going to be a Blackhawk again on 7/1/19, book it!!!

I think so too! |

Any trades from a Hawks perspective can be made at the draft - don't see the urgency to do anything at the deadline unless the deal is too sweet to turn down - Colbyboy
Very unlikely...UNLESS, there is an extension involved long term. If Stone or Panarin were to ink an extension, I am sure Stan would have to entertain the idea.
Other than that, Cap dumps, pick and prospect acquisitions....minor stuff...
**note: reports Seabrook has refused to waive no-trade. His right...but really limits Bowman's impact moves. Too bad too. If he was in fact asked....Stan MUST have thought he had at least the POSSIBILITY to move him. That woulda been HUGE! |

They better not trade for him as a rental, if they sign him as a free agent, i suppose, but don't be giving up anything that helps build this going forward |

Whaddya think about CooCoo now?
Far better skater (faster) than Forsling and seemingly NOT afraid of his shadow.
Also has a better last name! Could it be that Stan pulled off another under-the-radar move by dumping Ruuta for this former 1st rounder? Sure seems possible.
One other note -- was Seabrook playing drunk the 1st 2 periods?
He goes back to touch up on an icing with puck along the boards and falls on his ass. Gets up and looks totally out-of-it.
And what's with his Eddie Munster hairline look in those stupid lawyer commercials? - savvyone-1
My sentiment exactly about #7. He falls on ice about 4 times a game. Looks gased around 3rd period. He probably ices the puck more than any other defender in NHL.
Totally out of it...But due to his NMC and unwillingness to waive, we are stuck...He needs to be #7 defender. But the team/coach has no guts to sit him. |

This is very exciting...
I have no doubt they're going all in on Panarin. Kane's two most productive seasons have come with Arty on his other wing. This is the move McD wants for sure. The convention splash and makes your best player even more excited to come to the rink...the question is will they try to trade for him now or just wait it out. I'm sure the UC faithful will give the Breadman a warm welcome tonight.
As far as AA - its an interesting riddle. Depth centermen are always a need for any team. Moving that cap hit though and clearing more space may tip the scales.
Meanwhile though the biggest concern remains the defense. Pat mentioned what about going all in on Karrlson...if he makes it to the open market. You'd love to see a couple of vet dmen (not Brandon Manning) that can actually play here next year.
On the home front - the defense continues to be a fire drill in its own end and the PK has been dreadful. You've got a bunch of can't miss prospects until they miss. The question is how long are you prepared to wait to see which of the kids pan out while the clock continues to tick. - DK002
G'morning DK.
Don't you mean other than this one which has him shattering his previous best point total? Think I read based on his pace, he's on track to hit 120 and his previous best with Arty was 106.
I'd prefer they sign a couple players (3C and top 4D) vs going all in on Panarin. Another top 6 fwd would be nice but I think they already have at least 5 of them in 88,19, 12, 17 and 20. Kahun and Caggiula are decent middle 6/top 6 fill ins, so I'd rather see them round out the depth vs going all in on one guy.
Now I'm off to play the lottery. Never thought I'd see the day where Stan wasn't directly named as the architect of all things wrong in Hawk nation let alone no mention of him at all. You're slipping. |

This is probably about what Anisimov will bring. An OK player and a pick. Hawks are not getting one of Carolina's top prospects, like Necas. - kwolf68
I actually don't mind Anisimov...Good guy and good teammate...
Its #7 and #2 that has to go.......#7 stubbornness to waive NMC, we are slower in rebuilding process...The man ices more than any defender in NHL, falls down on his ass at least 4 times a game....They say he is a leader...Leader is a relative term...Its game performance that defines leadership....Right now Seabrook is a glaring liability for the team and futue... |

Ducks shutout again now have 5 goals scored in their last 6 games played. Word is they are going to tear it down and start from scratch.
Kurashev + Barrett for Manson?? - EnzoD
I would be all over getting Manson...For crying out loud, this team needs physical presence...... |

With DeBrincat lining up on the PP where Panarin used to and at about a tenth the price after the next contract, Kaner should be made to make do with his current group of friends. |

Agree with this do we really want to get back to cap hell by signing someone to large , long contract. I know we have cap space but we really don't have a lot. Most of our higher end contracts still have a lot term left so we won't have very much flexibility . Don't forget we have Cat and Strome who will need to be signed . The trend seems to be no bridge deals , straight to the big bucks. Dont use all our cap space on one player. |

I think it is going to be up to Ward, if he wants to play, the Hawks will sign him, if CC can play, Delia's contract can be fully buried if he goes to Rockford - LAHawk
Is there a possibility that Crow gets traded.....I'm comfortable with Ward/Delia combination... |

I'm actually very impressed with Koekkoek...His play has been stellar....A keeper...i would sign him an extension along with Calligula...The kid has hard nose...Frees up Kane and Toews on 1st line....Better skater, better shot than Shaw.... |

If I remember correctly, other than salary cap nightmare of resiginng Panarin, and wanting Saad back, the Blackhawks didn't like his comment after the playoff saying he was tired during the playoff..... |

Anybody notice what a great skater and physical specimen Perlini is...a 1st round draft choice but has zero hockey iq....What a shame....So much potential....This guy needs to work few stuff during off season....What a waste of a great talent.. |
