I think you’re right but it’s pretty risky. Still only cover half the playoff teams and in this age of parity it’s awfully hard to predict.

Look at it from the other way. He's limiting himself and his GM greatly, if he wanted to play in the playoffs, should Minnesota not make it. I guess that's the chance you take.

He had his best season when he came out of nowhere on the Super Bowl winning team. I believe we signed him off the Jags practice squad. Hes not good against the run and last season he wasn’t able to cover much of anything either (which is supposed to be his strong suit). Perhaps he’s better as a WILL instead of a Mike. I know he was making too much money for his production though.
