I was talking about 2020 top tier draft prospects.

Not even being the least bit sarcastic but the top of 2020 draft looks really, really good. Better then this years crop at the top. We were better off having the Blues suck a## this year but oh well.

I can’t believe super sniper Tage Thompson was who Botterill was targeting in the ROR trade. Seriously, ROR for Tage Thompson. Great move. What an effin doofus. The way he is handling the Beaulieu situation is a joke. Dude is a standup guy in the community and Botts won’t move him. U could cut him. Who gives a poop, let him go. Instead let’s him waste away in the press box. Sending a message. He’s a real hardass. I’m sure that is going over great with the other players. Let’s be patient with this GM says all the experts on this board. He’s earned it. He effin blows.

I think the Sabres are closer than we think but so far at the same time.

They need to hit a home run in the draft.

We need one more stud

Where we end up picking in Rd 1, say 15, 20 and 25 will not be players who play anytime soon, more than likely

Tage Thompson is simply in his first full season in the NHL. Did you expect 45 goals from him or something? ROR for Tage wasn’t the trade either. Go look up the trade. We got a 1st and 2nd too. We have no clue what those picks will turn out to be and we have no clue what Thompson will be either.

You do realize it takes two teams to make a deal, right? Why would we cut him? This isn’t the NFL guy. We’d be on the hook for some of his cap hit if we just cut him. Best time to trade him is at the deadline when teams miss out on the better defenders then Beaulieuks price goes up.

JB is doing things the right way. XGMTM literally added 2+ seasons to our rebuild. Left our prospect cupboards bare for the picking.

He’s not. LeBrun reported Skinner and the Sabres are only interested in a extension.

Personally I’d trade him and get a first next season, a good young player, and a good A prospect from a desperate playoff team and then resign Skinner on July 1st.

Everyone is just upset that we aren’t cup contenders after a 10 game winning streak.

We are exactly where we hoped to be at the beginning of the season. We went on a streak and now everyone is upset we aren’t mortgaging the future to make a cup run.

It’s insanity. Gmjb is taking his time and setting us up to be contenders. We have far too much dead weight on this roster due to making moves like most on here are suggesting.

A real rebuild takes time. It’s not gmjb fault

No, but picking high this year won’t hurt. Botts can make short term fixes in free agency and by cutting dead cap on this roster. We have good pieces in place, some are young and getting acclimated (Mitts/Dahlin). Sobotka, Sheary, Scandella, Beaulieu, Pominville, Moulsons dead cap, Girgensons, Larsson need to kick rocks and we need to assemble a real bottom 6 lineup and find a 2/3 C. This team isn’t as far as people think, but this year is not our year as evidently shown by tonight’s effort.

Do you think any of the picks around where we draft will be able to step into the NHL the following season, or kept in the minors for a year or two?

Minors for a year or two. I’d hope Botts can clear out the deadweight and use free agency for short term fixes to keep the seats warm for the picks that pan out.

Dude, no. No one is upset about this.

They are upset because the organization didn't make a trade to bolster the team when expectations got a little higher after the 10 game win streak.

We clearly needed a 2C. We clearly had issues with Berglund and Sobotka. We wanted some AHL guys to get a shot when under-performing vets showed us they were dead weight.

We had one line then and we have one line now. We wanted a hockey trade, a roster shake-up, anything to get us out of the slump that followed.

Remember when Talbot was "good"?

The Flyers and their goalies. It's a complex at this point. Hart might be something in a year or 2, though, I'm sure they'll find a way to (frank) it up and them trade him for a pittance where he'll go on to win Vezinas.

That was a major blown opportunity to get an easy 2 points last night and put a bow on the home stand and head off on the road in a positive frame of mind. Instead, we got a slice of swiss cheese with a plentiful side of creamed corn. That was reminiscent of last season.
