I think it’s fair to criticize JB about not making a move after the streak.
Totally fair. But I also don’t think it’s as big of a deal as people are making it out to be.
There was no 1 player that would have made us a true playoff team.
We need a ton - sbroads24
Everyone has to accept the 500 pound pink elephant in the room as well. We got very lucky with Skinner, top players don’t want to come to Buffalo |
|
|
|
I think he needs to be patient too.
However for about 15 games after the streak, one line scored.
Adding a semi-competent top 9 forward could’ve went a long way - sbroads24
Agreed, but we have no idea what that would have cost, and botts doesn’t seem like the type to overpay |

Hutton/Ullmark (both goalies to me are good backups to have but neither are long term starters)
Bogo will probably be retained so he plays on the third pair with McCabe. Rochester guys like Asplund, Olofsson will have a really good opportunity to make the roster next season. Botts has a lot of cap space to play with as well. - Pegullaville
If we can move Okslowpoke and insert Olofsson, I Love that speedy 4th line. Seems to be the way good teams are going. 4th lines are a threat not just agitators. |

Victor Rask apparently.
Again, it takes two to tango, and Minny had to have liked Rask for some reason (he isn’t good)
But it looks like their was at least an opportunity |

How much longer can the coaching staff accept Eichels lackadaisical effort, which has obiously rubbed off on Dahlin? I don’t get young, very talented players that are wildly inconsistent when it comes to effort? Coaching or nature of the players? - lulags
Eichel to Colorado for their ( 2) 1st rounders?
Seriously though, eichel needed to be the man last night and take control.
He didn't.
I now have concern if eichel can really lead us.
Sure he's young still..... |

Nelson and Bogo are the 6/7 with maybe Hunwick the 8th.
Stone is obvious for the number 1 RW position, at least as a target.
Maybe Ferland and Olofsson for LW, and maybe Brock Nelson for C, or would he cost too much?
Is Nick Jensen an under the radar pick up for an RHD? |

Eric Staal is also an obvious choice but there are many factors that go against Buffalo regarding him. |

But he is obviously having an impact on our even younger players. He needs to bring 100% every night or we are doomed |

I’ll beat my dead horse, JBotts is getting shot down by top players agents. I am convinced of this |

Well, Schmaltz’ numbers are artificially low as he has been on IR for a month, but nobody knew that would happen at the time of the trade, and at 0.67ppg he’s way ahead of many of our guys. And Leivo’s 11goals are better than 2 of the 4 RW we are icing right now.
Leivo was acquired for an AHL defender. We have those.
So *you* tell me if it isn’t really true. - Der Kaiser
It's true.
Those are wheel-spinning trades.
What's the point? To "shake things up"?
Like I said, if the threat of missing the playoffs can't wake these guys up, then a trade for a 3rd liner that we'll all be b!tching about because "he sucks" or "he's a bum" doesn't do ANYTHING for this team.
And do *you* really think anyone wanted our trash?

I don't know if that's necessarily true. Agents will look at getting their clients the best deal in free agency and I think they study a team's cap space and the best opportunity to play. We have holes in the top 6 and bottom 6 and at D and an agent could see Buffalo as potentially an opportunity for their client. |

Two guys named Jack and Rasmus as well. Eliminate Pominville and hunwick and we are probably icing the youngest roster in the league if not very close. Lots of room for improvement. I still think Mittelstadt is going to be a stud. |

After next season Botts is in control of the roster
Minus Okposo

I wasn’t expecting us to lose 6-2 last night but I was fully expecting us to lose. The Rangers are one of the better teams in the league the last few weeks. Total trap game. Buffalo not showing up at all was disappointing though. |
