I've been on a sour kick lately and one that really impressed me all around is the Duchesse de Bourgogne.

I tend to be attracted to beers named something like Nut Kicker and Sir Hops a Lot.

Boréale IPA du Nord-Est

Taste: Tropical fruit smoothie! This is insanely tasty! This has flavours of oranges, pineapple and mango. It's weird to think that this is an IPA but, well.. it is! It's more reminiscent of a healthy, wholesome smoothie than anything else. It's a bit creamy, so it gives off notes reminiscent of a creamsicle, an ever so slight breadiness to it. Not much of a bitterness from the hops here - more of a hint of grassiness than anything (that's not tropical fruit zest). The aftertaste is a light grainy bitterness with a pineapple sweetness and a bit of a creamy mouthfeel.

Ok...I think I'm out.

People seem to forget what an IPA actually is.

IPAs were created by the British to survive long voyages at sea to fill the ration requirements of soldiers/sailors. Nobody would drink them off the ship when more palatable ales were available. IPAs were only served in pubs because sometimes people who drank them on the ships would want a remembrance of those times.

I believe they became popular with the 'craft' beer movement because of their strong flavour, which was completely opposite to the flavourless lagers that people were used to. Not to mention that they are drop dead simple and cheap to make, and can easily be elevated to high alcohol contents without affecting flavour.

An IPA needs to be bitter - the overabundance of hops acted as a preservative for the voyage. There's nothing worse than a bland IPA, even though IPAs are fairly low on my list of desirable beers.

Omg...omg omg omg

Great, I have to eat boomers again now lol

I've been straight edge for about a year but I figure I'll probably do mushrooms or edible weed or try DMT at some point when the time is right. Right now I just meditate.

I've been way into stoner music though, even more than when I was a stoner lol...Tame Impala on repeat today

- Zezel

Lol..

Yeah I’m not a huge fan of psychedelics and only do mushies once a year. Might try DMT, once.. meditation is very good for you. I try to do it daily.

I've never had one, but I like it's lower alcohol content. If I'm at the lcbo and in the mood for an IPA I might give it a try.

Except the big question is what is the end of the day for this one in the future and what is practically the same time as the game tonight at some point before the end of the shift.

I'm a fan. Pretty simple beer, touch of bitter. Like a more bitter but lighter Creemore Lageralmost.

Hops is what I am attracted to. In saying that, my go to everyday beer is Sam Adams, but I am always on the hunt for that near perfect (for me) IPA. I try them all - some I just pour out after one taste.
Speaking about pouring out, I tried a Pale Ale (not sure why), Cruiser from Amsterdam Brewery - completely undrinkable.

I tried a couple of these after you guys were talking about it a while back...didn't do it for me. It was ok, but it took a couple weeks for me to drink the second one.

I like a much bolder flavour.

My memory is so bad, though, I need to create a spread sheet to list all I've tried and rank them 1-10.

I bet Lums has a spread sheet started.

Boneshaker is the only think from Amsterdam that's OK. Meaning it's not great, but OK. Everything else is undrinkable.

I had Boneshaker...once.

How can someone think this is worth bottling and serving. Must pay the LCBO big bucks for shelf space. Can't see anyone buying it a second time.

Ugh don’t make me look up who won what.. I still don’t know who we’re talking about.

I remember the year the Leafs had 5 players on Team Canada at the WJC.. Stajan, Bell, Coliacovo, Wellwood, annnnd I forget the last guy.. but the point is that they all sucked in the NHL. 😁

- Arctic_AARDVARK

I think it was pogge. Or Rask...didn’t we have them both playing in the wjc that one year?

ratebeer.com just declared the "IPA-du-Nord-Est" from Boréal in Quebec the best IPA in the goddamn world!

I still have plenty in my fridge!

I wanna get into watching football soccer but it would suck doing it without someone who knows the game better than I do. My uncle (works for Muskoka brewery) brought me a 12pack of cream ale and I’m gonna savour it.. like 1 beer every 2 days. Tbh I think a cat (or dog I guess) would greatly improve the quality of my life.

The pup is snoring alongside me - very content right now. Especially as MUFC just scored

The pileated woodpecker who is destroying my bird feeder doesn’t want to be friends, and I don’t like seagulls.

Future doesn't look that bad. I honestly can't remember the last time the Habs had such an interesting prospect pool.

Not that I would expect you to know about it.
