While Center is an obvious need NOW...
as long as Mitts turns out to be what we all think he can develop into,
then it’s really not an issue when thinking about the long term roster construction of the team
We (most likely) aren’t competing for the Cup next year no matter what we do
So we don’t even need Mitts to be a stud by next season
Just need him to keep improving

In the short term at Center...
E Rod has looked good since they finally put him at 3C over Sobotka
And Larsson has held his own as our defensive center

While we could certainly upgrade at those spots
(Again, since we aren’t competing for the Cup NEXT year)
It’s not really an IMMEDIATE need

If we can find the right guy, at the right price... then great
If not, we do have guys like Asplund & Davidsson coming
And would still maintain the flexibility to add the RIGHT guy when a trade or future UFA presents itself

Then was instantly challenged to fight.

Sure. Somebody else could have stepped in there for Okposo, though. Or Okposo could have bear hugged him. I just don't want to see that guy fight. It's done now, and he isn't concussed, but damn, that was a terrible idea.

Who cares how little experience they have?

The 4th line already plays more minutes then an average 4th line to take the d-zone draws and turn the ice in favor of the better offensive players to come in and take over.

In the end, the most productive lineup should be all that matters.

I can't see how that line would be productive...who's gonna play defense when the devils put their top line out against them?...don't get me wrong...I like them and see each of them playing a role on the team, but putting them all together might not be in the team's best interest when there's still a decent chance at making the playoffs

Sheary/Sobotka/Pominville 50% retained could be of use to a team. Larsson, Girgensons, Hunwick, Nelson.

Potential dark horse could be Skinner getting traded and resigning here July 1st like Moulson did a few years back.

Not trying to make a trade to salvage the season unless the player acquired is a piece of the puzzle for the next 10 years (even then that can be an offseason trade). Selling off players that could be of use to a team or standing pat and letting the cards fall where they may. They have been playing at a bottom 10 team level since the winning streak.
